In the Army every man under 30 and not in units with higher fitness standards has to run 2.4km in 10:30 or faster, which equates to above average/excellent on your table. And most of them spend a good portion of their time drinking, smoking and eating crap.
Correct. Most of them also just get up on the day and do it with no prior training. Twice a year. I know I used to. That last half a mile hurts if you're not fit but truthfully, I just used to view it as "10 minutes worth of balls" cos if you're under 30 and not overweight, then that's all it really is ...
