    Forest Vs Liverpool

According to Sunday Mail reporter Tom Collomosse, "Liverpool keeper should have returned posession "as the rules require" but instead passed to a team-mate" Clattenburg was last seen wandering around the City ground telling everyone who would listen that he is a qualified referee and he is...

    SE Dons Keeper

Why is the keeper still at the side of the pitch (and on several occasions on it) after being sent off? Shouldn't he be on the car park or in the changing rooms? How is the ref allowing so much encroachment on the pitch and how are the ARs managing to run a line with all the crowd on it? So many...

    Game abandoned !!

If your informant was only presuming the yellow card sending off was a sin binning, maybe we need a different coloured card to use for sin bins. We could try blue cards. Maybe I should float my idea with IFAB. You heard it here first.

    Head injury concern.

I agree but my question is could I have forced him to take the player off. I voiced my concern several times as did the away coach and several parents. I know the chairman of the club quite well so I am going raise the issue with him as it is a child welfare concern.

    Head injury concern.

The problem was the lad kept saying he was ok, think he didn't want to let the team down as they only just had a bare 9 players.

    Head injury concern.

Have just come back from my game today, Under 12s. In the first five minutes home keeper makes a great save but then smashes his head off the post. Coaches come on and after a few minutes they take him off and as they only have nie players they are now down to eight. Ten minutes later the...

    First ever game

Only thing I want to add is that as a referee you will meet some great people at some great clubs but unfortunately you will meet some real knobheads. Embrace the former and try to ignore the latter.

    Watches

I have a £20 Lorus as my main watch and the second is £3.99 from Decathlon. I replace the Decathlon watch every second season. I have never been let down by either although I am getting the battery changed in my main watch for the first time in 5 years. Not interested in heat maps, heart rate or...

New kit for an old ref

Discountfootballkits.com or I think you can buy them on the R A website. Both similar prices. I like them, have both designs. I tend to go one size up on the shirt. Used them for a few years now and are good value in my humble opinion.

New kit for an old ref

I like the Mitre kits. Look the part and reasonably priced.

    Things that players say

Had one two weeks ago. Ball played over the top, forward is chasing it, keeper comes running out, he slices the ball out to the wing, then cleans out the forward. Just about to blow for free kick, another forward, without breaking stride, fires the ball into the net. Apparently the goal cannot...

    Skip, hop an a jump

If the keeper knows that this is a tactic used by the taker surely the best option is to stand still. The hoppity jumpity thing at the end takes all momentum out of the run up and it relies on the keeper moving early, to just roll the ball the opposite way. The keeper has a good chance af saving...

    First game difficulties

We all had to learn how to deal with these situations I never get neutral assistants and instruct Cars ins and outs only, you get used to doing offsides on your own but you will make errors. I apparently missed one last week that every man and his dog saw except me. If I'm asked how long left...

    Reffing games involving family

I have done a few of my daughters games but make sure her coach has informed the opposition coaches and the league. Never had a problem but to be honest I would rather be there as a parent but will fill in as a last resort. Better to have a qualified ref than none at all.

    Cracking Question

Wi Without the use of Google, I'm having a guess at Orient or Palace were the team playing the mighty Wanderers that day?

    England v Scotland VAR penalty

Also noted that the referee blew the whistle while the ball was still in play, should she have waited for a stoppage or not?

    Single referee calling offside

In the league I ref in you usually end up with one reluctant parent an one coach doing the line. They help with ins and outs, I do everything else. A lot of it comes down to instinct. Both teams are warned that if they think I get the decision wrong that's fair enough but be very careful about...

Too old to take the referee course ???

Just to echo AJPeacock I did my course at 51 just to stay involved after my son moved from junior football to OA. Registered with the local leagues, did my 5 games within 3 weeks and never looked back. Due to my daughter playing on Saturday dinnertime I am restricted to kick off times but always...
