Exactly. Society has brought a lot of them up to be horrible and disrespectful. Added to that, the professional game openly encourages backchat, verbal abuse of refs, cheating etc. The FA keep doing the surveys, but they know what the issues are and are too spineless to do anything about it.
But you're then taking the advantage away from the attacking team. It's them that has been awarded the FK and should have the advantage of when and how they take it ! Perfectly legit goal in my opinion
In summary. I think there's something fundamentally wrong with the LOTG if even referees on a forum can't agree with certain decisions. I think the beautiful game leaves way too much to interpretation.

We've seen many red cards given for tackles that have got the ball first but the type of tackle endangered the opponent !
Your pic shows a standard volley. The guy in question is trying to hook it high and away with a tackle coming in behind him. Why would he throw his arms up to deliberately stop the ball, when he wants to clear it away from the area ? I think we'll have to agree to disagree.

I'm pretty certain Forest would have clipped it into the corner, and tried to hold it there for the remaining time, so i'm not sure Forest would have needed the opportunities to clear.
What worries me, is players feigning head injuries just so that they can stop the game. That's a really low thing to do. Perhaps the LOTG should be changed, so that any player that suffers this injury should be removed from the FOP so that the medics can take a look at them ?
Years ago when I was playing, I had a moan at a ref for a soft pen and he said to me "penalties are like eggs. There are soft ones and hard ones. But a soft egg is still an egg"
