    Banned official

Another viewpoint, at this level you are not given a a list of officials who will be in the technical area. So by implication this individual is a club official by being in the TA or dugout as he clearly has the approval of the manager. If he is a spectator, then the manager would not be...

    Wholegame reports for every game?

A benefit of RefSix if you are a user, records all your matches & discipline (if none) if you don't want to use an Excel spreadsheet. :)

    Mental health

I would add, there are many decisions on a football pitch which are given which are not right or wrong, just an opinion of the referee from their viewpoint. The referee is the independent arbitrator, often the only person in the ground capable of making a neutral decision. I’m not saying you...

    Birmingham v Cardiff Shirt issue

Thought this was interesting, at Championship level, player with a replacement shirt that looks more like a training shirt (his shirt was torn). You would think each player would have their own second shirt in case of inclement weather to change at half time...

    Arsenal v Bayern

I think referee was correct to wave away hand ball penalty award, given nobody wants this tie decided by a penalty call by the referee even if backed up by law. I had the same situation in a game of mine two weeks ago, my thought was coach the players, if they want to switch the side of the...

    WOL Vs WHU

Lineker even stated “it’s a rule bought in by referees at IFAB who have taken over our game”. Unless Im mistaken IFAB is not a referees body but an independent body made up of FA representatives, with contributions from the likes of Colina & Wenger.

    Dundee v Rangers Off

Talking of a patch of the pitch being unplayable, interesting method from Plymouth Parkway in solving the problem. Great comment on X, if we win the toss should we bat or bowl?

    Hail

This was abandoned at half time last night! There was biblical rain, not often I’m pleased if my match is postponed I was last night!

    Georgia v Luxembourg

Something we thought may occur more frequently when VAR was introduced. Play brought back after a goal. 2.40 to 5.25

    Quick freekick

If you asked a group of players I bet the majority believe the defensive team have a right to set up a defensive wall & the restart must be delayed until they are ready 😁

I made a mistake by disallowing a penalty and I have reported my error to my County FA today

Well done for admitting an error in law, owning up, move on with a positive attitude for your next game. if you want to discipline yourself..... your sentence is 'reading the LoTG every day for rest of this month' (joking!)

    Clash of the toe-tans

My game yesterday, we are all wearing black socks & shorts! Few year's back I asked away team to apply white tape to their black socks, their was a local hardware store at the end of the road where they bought some tape, yesterday didn't do anything. Significant local game, cup semi-final with...

    Dundee v Rangers Off

Referee getting critiscm for late arrival at the ground, likely his normal 10.15am, 1 hour 3/4 before kick off. Presumably would be close by overnight, in a hotel or at home? Clearly the local referee’s decision to call off the game earlier is not going to be accepted by Sky TV. No expert but...

    Rotherham United v Huddersfield Town

Few points to share opinion on: Thoughts on 1. The second Yellow? https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxbrHPcbET8O7Mw1wWS0xmTvS68t4TYYxh?si=lcBO8Z23JC-2ieyO https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxYECArH6SSSDV2IV2pqvfDr1zpuQTboO7?si=1Wg4BKOZQvms2eDj[/URL 2. Yellow for simulation? 3. Anyone wanting Thomas...

    Cup Finals

I view a cup final, even a 4th Official appointment as giving something back to grass roots football and supporting the referee appointment officer. (Over the season, refereeing has given me a great deal of fulfilment & financial reward so giving one match back is not too much of a sacrifice.)...

    Freiburg v West Ham

Has the referee judged the defender payed the ball against his own arm? Hence no penalty & length of VAR review. Thoughts

    Timekeeping Error

Happened in League 2, just three years ago. Referee Alan Young & his colleagues had a brain fade, coming back out after half time, finishing a 4 of minutes of the first half then restarting the 2H. Young, who doubles as the Chief Executive of the Bedfordshire FA, may have saved him...

    Bellingham Red Card

Observers advice was, you blow after a goal kick with ball in the air, rather than when ball out of play, so you reduce players altercations at HT or FT as they are all spread across the pitch! I feel you just wasting everyone’s time, so happy to blow when ball is out of play. My scenario last...

    SE Dons - Lino abuse

Nothing has changed for over 100 years, great picture from c1910 to 1920, women’s match, had to wear a hat to attend though! Interesting goal posts, no nets.

    Law Changes from July 2024

I would like to see any time wasting, too much time taken on goal kicks, free kicks, throw in or GK over 6 seconds just reverse possession. Throw in the other way, goal kick & GK over 6 seconds is a corner. No need to caution for delaying restart.
