    Ipswich v Forest missed DOGSO

The description wasn't helpful, he didn't really knock it wide. But I do think the VAR intervention was incorrect, the attacker's touch before being fouled was heavy and even if he somehow got to the ball before it went out of play or the keeper got it it would have been an impossible angle...

    Sunderland v Brighton DOGSO

Agree, saying it was down to the direction wasn't really true as he was still moving almost directly towards goal. Rather his heavy touch meant there was zero chance of getting the ball, and even if he did it would have been a very acute angle.

    Sunderland v Brighton DOGSO

I'm pretty sure a 5th body, the referee observation panel (or whatever it is called) will determine whether the decisions impacts his mark, positively or negatively. That's the one outcome we will probably never find out about.

    Sunderland v Brighton DOGSO

Couldn’t really make this up. Original decision was no red card. VAR recommended review and red card issued. Brighton appealed and were successful with suspension being removed. KMI panel say the red card was correct. That for me demonstrates why it can't have been a clear and obvious error, we...

    Well that was unexpected…..

I’d just assumed it was the global PHP issue.

    VAR added time

4th officials are instructed they MUST keep a stoppage log detailing all times the game was stopped where time should be added on. They then tell the referee how much time they think should be added, and unless the referee disagrees that is what will go up on the board. It is pretty much...

Shoving the Ref, Pt2: Man City vs PSG

Sending off here would be totally OTT in my opinion. It is just a collision.

    Sanctions

Agree. In England if you are found to have not submitted cautions or sendings off you will be suspended. If on promotion you can also kiss goodbye to that. And it does happen as clubs contact the CFA to report they are missing, CFA check the system and they haven’t been submitted.

    Lesson learnt

As has been said, never tell a player he has to stay on his feet. That is a coaching instruction, can't be a refereeing one as slide tackles are perfectly legal.

    Jacob Miles

No one on here is going to know that unless they personally know Jacob. Referees get injured just like players do, I know that more than anyone, that would be my guess for the reason but can't know for sure.

    Sunderland v Brighton DOGSO

I don't think the attacker had a cat in hell's chance of getting to the ball before the keeper, so a big mistake for VAR to get involved. I was very confident their appeal would be successful on this. I think the independent panel will go to town on this one and say 5-0 that the original...

    Open Age Abandoned

I'd agree with that if he'd been sent off for something like DOGSO, but when it is VC that is much more of a risk

    Coventry v Newcastle

I prefer to go on what the law says rather than what AI says has happened. Even more so as for the Benrahma one it says he lifted it over his head, which is a mandatory caution.
  14. R

    Coventry v Newcastle

Definitely not, just lifted it to show the message, at no point was the head covered. Hence why I think it was a refereeing mistake.
  15. R

    Coventry v Newcastle

It does, but it also says that the player / team will be sanctioned by the competition organiser, national football association or FIFA. I would take the referee not being listed there as meaning they would just include it in a match report, not caution for it. The laws only reference a...

    Open Age Abandoned

I'm going to hazard a guess that he was still wearing the armband stood on the touchline and they haven't even thought about who would replace him. Once it was obvious the sent off player was going to refuse to go I'd stop engaging with him and rather try to persuade a "sensible" team mate to...

    Coventry v Newcastle

That was a fantastic advantage, would have been so easy to blow for a free kick there. I personally think he is one of the best, mainly because of how different he is. He has zero interest in being friendly or chatty with the players, rather adopts a very stern "stay away" approach, almost a...

    Open Age Abandoned

The league should absolutely back you here. They probably will be frustrated as it will take a couple of months for county to sort out, but that isn't your problem and you did the correct thing in applying the laws. Realistically the result at the time of the abandonment will end up standing...

    mıstaken ıdentıty

No, as far as I am aware they don't even look at club marks any more for promotion. Perhaps they look at marks for county cup games, but in my experience they don't even ask leagues to provide club marks like they used to. They do look at levels of administration, so just take the caution...

    7-0 cup match players upset

Assume you were on your own with no assistants? On the rare occasions I do games on my own I say to the captains at the toss that I won't be apologising for missing an offside. I tell them that I might be facing the wrong way when the ball is played, especially for long clearances, and I will...
