I wore mine for the first time at a corporate game recently. Much better fit on the arms but I would recommend going a size up for the slightly larger folks as a medium was quite tight on me even after cutting down recently. Shorts are baggy around the leg but i would say more comfortable overall

If it is a county core group then you may be accepted but they will not be able to nominate you for a different county core group based on where your uni is. James was referring to the National group which covers the whole country and is much easier to shift people around.

To be honest, if I was in the middle unless the flag goes up for something wrong I'm not paying any attention to the taking of the corner. This will obviously depend on the referee but in this situation it seems like you did the right thing to assist the ref and work as a team.
