I like the idea that you just readily had this link saved somewhere for this exact conversation to happen 😂

I was speaking to some of my mates about this the other day. If you want to make it pro, you need to accept that you aren't allowed a decent hairline.

Now will everyone enforce it from when they collect it on the floor or what they get up and are able to play it? Similarly what about when an attacker is stood in front of the gk on the edge of the box?

I also am a bit of a jobsworth and have a yellow in my right pocket and red in left. This is what's been helpful to me, especially this season.

Top pocket for red? It might be a regional thing but I've always seen top=yellow bottom=red

I have also just seen that the decision was overturned by the Spanish FA, definitely has me a little confused.

Keep your head up is the first bit of advice, assuming you haven't seen that team since last season, they probably won't remember you. Sounds like you did everything you needed to in the previous fixture, so there's nothing they should be able to hold against you. Start the game as you would any...

I think the premier league has had a drop of enjoyment of the fans on the whole. Obviously there will be exceptions but when given the offer of watching a non league game or Liverpool vs Chelsea I will probably watch the step 6 game. Also, I think the EFL has become the more exciting leagues to...

The only reason I thought it would be interesting is, as per usual, the wider football fanbases have no idea on why a referee has made a decision.

Interesting red for Antony here, looks to be little contact but my first reaction was red.

Unfortunately, unless you are a L4 in the mens game there isn't really any progression as an assistant, due to there not being promotions for just an assistant until then. (not too sure how it works in the womens game)

I know his actions cannot be excused, but I genuinely think he's angrier at falling over whatever the other player did 😂

That is another none of us had mentioned. If you got a yellow for a challenge in the first half and you still have a clean slate to batter someone, of course you are gonna take it.

All I keep thinking of, is how mentally exhausting that could be for everyone involved. Imagine you've just lost 1 game 7-0 and the poor kids have to go out with it literally "still 0-0". Glad my leagues never adopted this.

I remember the season after Covid was the only time I can remember a frantic rush to get games in for youth football. Even then they chose to have a 6pm kick off midweek before even considering a double header. I distinctly remember 16 yr old me doing as many as 9 games in one week in that period.

Although tbf the idea of the respect handshake, does always seem funny to me. "Good luck" is then followed up by 22 men (or women) getting in each others faces for the next 90 mins. Not much respect shown after the kickoff.

It was in the league rules for my local step 7 league. However you would only see the players walk out with the referee at the top division, where they have neutral assistants. Even less likely to see the referee enforce the handshake, with it often having them split as soon as you get to the pitch

Just ignore the parents and coaches, they aren't happy that poor little Timmy gave away a pen in a game they are losing badly. Like it has already been said as long as you think you had a good game, you can ruin all the games you want.

Can't believe Real are claiming that the referees were manipulating the game to make sure the team with some of the best players in the world could not beat the Spanish equivalent of Wolves. (No offence to any wolves fans)

Ok so the main thing I take from that is that they will be a bit quicker on the ball than you are used to. Something I was told once by an older referee years ago was that you don't need to be able to keep up, just make it look like you are by having a good position. Probably the best bit of...
