    Handball Wording in law

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/jun/04/jack-grealish-ruling-in-fa-cup-final-further-proves-absurdity-of-handball Brilliant article here from one of the best football writers around. Jonathan Wilson. Have to agree with his analysis, as unlike some of the idiotic co-commentators on TV...

    Europa League final

Read comments on Twitter that Taylor lost control. The only people who lost control were the managers, (Mourinho especially), coaches and players. Refs cannot control behaviour, people control their own behaviour. The footage of Mourinho shouting abuse as the officials boarded the bus is an...

Would have kicked off with the parents!

    Europa League final

Sort of game if it is over the park you would threaten to call it off! UEFA really need to have a look at this game, players and coaches completely out of control. The Premier League has been bad this season but this isn't football

    Championship Playoff Final

Don't believe every contact is a foul, so even if there was contact, and looks like there may have been, there wasn't enough for a penalty and think the yellow card was deserved for the context of trying to win a penalty in such a crucial part of the game.

    Liv Villa - Mings VAR

Yes the rugby solution might not work in football, but sone interesting ideas. I suppose the only solution at the moment is ensuring time is added, but fans are getting increasingly frustrated by this ‘tactic’, and that’s what it is

    Liv Villa - Mings VAR

Yes, was enough time for Liverpool to find a winner, but it is clearly a tactic used to stop momentum. Can’t blame the ref, as you cannot ignore a player holding his head, but players are deliberately doing it.

    Liv Villa - Mings VAR

The other big issue issue in the game, as I was watching it live on TV was Villa’s constant time wasting. Brentford are also the masters of this, i.e. a player goes down injured when a team is on the attack, or has won a corner. Completely takes the sting out of the game. Fair play to the ref...

    Liv Villa - Mings VAR

Checking VAR for an offside as well. Never seen that before. But guess the Aston Villa player wasnt deemed to have deliberately played the ball to VVD. But agree Mings very lucky to be on the pitch

    Brentford v WHU

I thought it was harsh if given for unnatural position. Would have been nice to hear the comm on this. I am not a West Ham supporter btw claiming conspiracies!

    Nottingham Forest v Manchester City

Didn't think it was enough for a foul, and maybe the ref had it in his mind, that if he had given it, he would have to send off the defender. More surprised that Guardiola only got a yellow card for 'manhandling the fourth official'. Looked like a pure shove on MOTD, "

    SinBin Usage

I use them, but not enough. I try to use the stepped approach wherever possible but had an assessor the other week who said I tolerated too much abuse, which was a fair comment.

    Unpick this!

Can't give that, unless you are pretty close to the line. I thought the fella in orange was the ref at one point, I thought that was excellent positioning, before realising it's the keeper!

The subs advice is amazing, thank you, as that is a big annoyance

    Hearing aids

Thanks for that, that’s really useful. Might leave them at home this weekend. Suffer from tinitus, so probably in the medium loss range. The hearing aid might be amplifying every sound anyway, including the backchat!

    Hearing aids

I was wondering if any other refs have experience reffing with hearing aids. This is my second season, and wear one, behind the year one, based during a match on Saturday really felt it was being used to make snidey comments, and querying decisions more than I think they should have. I couldn't...

    ARS v CIT

Clear penalty, excellent decision, where the ball goes after is irrelevant. The fact nobody expected show the players doesn’t know the laws of the game. No second yellow also an excellent decision. Taylor has been excellent

Did not use sin bin for dissent just YC

Wouldn’t be devastated. Did that last year in my first season, and the county secretary politely reminded me of the sin bin process, as the game had another incident had gone to county. Move on, lesson learned for me, and have used them since

Liverpool v City - Klopp sending off

Have watched the 3 minute video showing every angle of the goal. None of which show the ball touching his arm, so not sure what VAR was supposed to do?
