    Newcastle v Manchester City

I agree not sure why the offside is controversial, line is marked from the shoulder, level with the bottom of the armpit which you can score from?

    Burnley v Chelsea handball?

Another one of these after Tyro Mings last year, are the players even coached not to do this? Are we not given a penalty under ‘spirit of the game’?

    Blood rules

He played like this in fact scored winning try & match winning penalty. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxG2AS7c-XEt7VSNWgEdBFMHLUPpdyBACh?si=ZxUAclIQEm0CNrQe

    Got 2 low mark reports

You state two bad reports from two separate matches, so there are likely learnings, maybe not in decision making but other aspects of refereeing? Can you ask a referee colleague to observe/mentor one of your next matches?

    Blood rules

I guess my point was, as a football referee we wouldn’t let a player return to the pitch like this & with a shirt stained in blood, whereas rugby does.

    Blood rules

Why does rugby have such different blood rules, in football a spot of blood on a shirt is not acceptable yet rugby union play on with open wounds?

    Match officials mic'd up

My question is why is AR2, telling the referee Robertson is in ‘Line of Vision’? He surely doesn’t have this information, that is for the referee to decide. Chris Kavanagh’s response is “OK, Offside then”. Doesn’t suggest he made any analysis in his mind of why he was deeming it offside...

    Gillingham Vs Crawley

What are we seeing here? Blue takes the corner, Blue striker ‘may have’ flicked it, Red defender clears the ball. Blue corner taker is now deemed offside, but red was the last player to play the ball. What I am missing that this is offside?

    Coventry Sphinx Abandoned

Sexist comment from the crowd, referee abandons match at half time. Will ‘fans’ see an opportunity to get a match abandoned if they are vile enough to the referee? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c709ll70d8go

    WSL- Arsenal vs Chelsea

Two really tight offside calls too. Too close to call but both supportable. 6.56 & 7.30

    Ref standards

I agree your post was a fair question, wasn’t calling out any referee or naming him/her. I think we as a forum should be encouraging new members to post without fear of criticism or reprisal. If nobody posts we don't have a forum.

    Ref standards

The league appointment secretary, is key here, he or she will have the referee marks, is the individual referee refereeing in the lowest division or vets of that league would indicate they are aware but continue to use said referee. If not then referee marks are possibly higher from the clubs?

    City vs Liverpool

From the four offside criteria, are any fulfilled? Did VAR havng already be involved in earlier penalty, count against Liverpool here, given required low involvement of VAR?

    City vs Liverpool

I don’t see offside here, your position on the field is not a criteria, did he impact an opponent (GK)? He did the opposite of ‘clearly attempting to play the ball’? Mike Dean says it’s offside because it was inside the six yard area? interfering with an opponent by: preventing an opponent...

    Sunderland v Everton

On the same theme, are the arms tucked in for the Rangers penalty? Is a second yellow expected? https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxTf7eC1c51MB848Rhy2u-zmtc45HgRGib?si=Rov6eUKRKO7XVr3_

    Liverpool Vs Real Madrid

Could we suggest these unintentional handballs need to be impactful? The result is a free shot from 12 yards when the ‘offence’ was nowhere near that.

Is there any point having AR's in the Premier League ?

I think he has got distracted, at the exact moment of the offside, McAllister, who believes he should have got a free kick, is shouting at the AR. This has the caused the AR to look away from the last line of defendersto look at MacAllister, unfortunate but understandable...

Changed drop ball law … devil in the detail

Would you still think for a newbie referee, trying to keep it simple is, ‘try & run a diagonal, move to the left as play transitions so you are looking in at tackles form the side’. When you mentor a brand new referee, positioning is usually an issue. Trying to explain a lazy S, with all the...

    Djed Spence’s boot

His team could have been smarter too, stand in front of the corner taker, until he's back in position. :)

    Anyone penalising the GK here?
