    England v Argentina

Well thank f… that’s over. Now I can deal with the really stressful stuff. Like will I actually have a job at the end of this bs restructuring we’re dealing with ? And what actually happens on a picket line as I’m on strike officially for the first time ever tomorrow. 🤔

    France - Spain

Great advantage for the second goal though.

    France - Spain

And then an overturned free kick? Suggested by TV that it was a VAR intervention. Again it’s a bit odd. Don’t like how referee allows himself to be crowded by players at every contested decision either. Keeps turning his back on situations too which doesn’t help.

    France - Spain

Digne sleeping for the penalty. An easy call really.

    Norway Vs England

Likewise the Bellingham answer. If only our politicians could answer like that - straight up honesty and not taking the bait, but throwing straight back at them.

    Norway Vs England

LOL @ ITV interviewer getting owned by Tuchel for his BS questions.

SpiderCam, SpiderCam, does whatever a spider can. Spins a web any size, deflects balls just like flies. Look out. Here comes the SpiderCam.

    Norway Vs England

I’ll say this now. @Jalli_K will know whom I’m talking about, but even though I’m a big fan of the Striking Viking Jorn Lande, who performed the official Norway song for this tournament, but I really hope he ends tonight proud but disappointed.

That shouldn’t be overturned. On field decision should stand, regardless of the outcome. I can live with either penalty or no penalty but there is no reason to get involved here.

    Higher bar for second yellow

A related narrative that’s becoming more prevalent in the game - TV commentary to blame - is this idea that if a player has been cautioned their next offence *has* to be another caution, just because they’re already on one. Don’t buy it. As you say, some fouls definitely so. Others not. Whether...

    Sitting out Pre season games

Makes a change though. Used to be a standing joke that Kieron Dyer would stay injury free longer at the start of the season than I would!

    Sitting out Pre season games

Sitting it out through injury 🙁 Have sustained pressure on my sciatic nerve meaning I’ve got a persistent pins and needles sensation in my shin and right foot. Makes running difficult, and fitness has suffered because of it. Seeing a physio for it and hope to be “fixed” come August so I can...

    Field conditions - dry weather

As you could on a standard pavement. That is consistently hard in every season. Yet more injuries occur from slips and falls when icy than in the dry. It’s about the lack of traction rather than how hard the surface is.

Since we’re changing law etc because we feel like it, red card for that goalkeeper DOGSO please FIFA. 🙄

    US v Bosnia

At least 15 days before that’s considered. Then he can go out in a blaze of glory after the “successful culmination” of the biggest World Cup ever.

    France v Paraguay

I know we all have games where it goes wrong. And having it go wrong in front of a huge audience is awful. But… you have to up your own game. Do what needs to be done and then take everything else on the chin and own your shortcomings. He hasn’t done anything like that. I can’t call this a...

    France v Paraguay

In isolation I can accept that one for Koné as a “threshold” caution. But given what’s gone before I’m left shaking my head.

    France v Paraguay

I don’t like criticising referees but I will do when it’s justified. Another one going home - can’t be a shrinking violet at this level.
