    Mex v Eng

It does seem to be rather pot luck with VAR involvement so far - some obvious mistakes not reviewed and some not obvious ones reviewed, and some goals disallowed due to reviewing 'soft' fouls in the build-up (and not to mention Faghani inexplicably sticking with his on-field decision after going...

    Mex v Eng

Kane kicks the Mexican player's foot and gets no contact on the ball whatsoever - it's quite definitely a foul. Slightly more arguable whether it's C&O, but if Faghani didn't give the foul on-field because he thought Kane had played the ball, VAR can see that he very obviously didn't, so I think...

    Mex v Eng

Rice misses the ball and makes contact with his studs at above waist height - that's nearly always going to be a caution regardless IMO.

    US v Bosnia

And that stops Article 27 being applicable how? We've already seen it used in Cristiano Ronaldo's favour to enable him to play in all of Portugal's group games. As I've already said the decision stinks, but you can't possibly claim they "had absolutely no right to do what they did" when it's...

    US v Bosnia

As much as I think the decision stinks, Article 27 quite clearly allows a disciplinary measure to be partly or fully suspended, so the RBFA can quote other articles til the cows come home, but it won't make a difference. How on earth they can decide that Balogun's red is only one (suspended)...

Bring back Havelange I say. A true man of integrity.

    World Cup referee standards

The overall standard was always likely to be slightly lower than previous tournaments given that there are 52 51 referees for this one compared to 36 previously, but taking the France-Paraguay match out of the equation, I don't recall any other horrendous performances. As for the disrespect...

    France v Paraguay

He was, but that was the Confederations Cup, so I was wondering what "issues" @RefIADad was referring to from any of his World Cup matches

    France v Paraguay

Would you care to elaborate on this?

    US v Bosnia

Messi's wasn't even close to being similar to this.

    Bel v Sen

It's nine minutes between play being stopped and kick-off following the penalty (117 to 126). Four minutes were put up on the board at 120, so there was at least one minute added already before the VAR check etc. Few seconds here and there between 126 and 130, and over a minute sorting out...

    Bel v Sen

    I think it's a foul, but I don't think it's sufficient for VAR to recommend a review, given the no-call on-field.

    England Vs DR Congo

@RustyRef please can we change the thread title to the correct country name? Wouldn't want anyone thinking we were playing against the wrong country :D:D:D I can't say I've ever had that feeling watching Kane - Bellingham on the other hand... :mute:

    England Vs DR Congo

The six additional minutes had already been played when the ball went out - I'd presume he was (quite rightly) paying more attention to the goalkeeper being down than looking at his watch, then blew for h/t on realising the time.

    IFAB changes for 26-27

Meaning the player still takes forever to limp off, and they can still make the substitution immediately...

    IFAB changes for 26-27

Anyone else seeing potential issues with the change that a player being subbed must leave the FoP within 10 seconds, but "if a player who is to be substituted refuses to leave, play continues" being left in?

    England v Ghana

Watching it again - the only touch he gets on the ball is it hitting his arse as he lands 🙃

    England v Ghana

Thought Konsa was very lucky to not give away a penalty there - dived in and took the man out first, before possibly getting a toe on the ball.
