Tough one. If he disallowed it for offside, there is no need for a wait for whistle restart so yeah in theory they can take a quick free kick. Not sure I would allow one, but is there a reason not to?
Yes I have. No shortage of witnesses.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot.
All parents should side a code of conduct when signing up their children to clubs. This code must include financial penalties and they should be hefty to prevent parents/coaches behaving so poorly.
The league should...
Exactly this.
It’s instilled at grassroots level and is enforced on the professional level.
If the top level didn’t allow it then that would trickle down. Forget sin bin. Make it an instant red card with a 3 match ban. 2nd offence in same season….6 match ban.
That will soon stop it.
The...
Thanks for all the replies. My report just stated the facts as they happened. No speculation of any sort.
There are plenty of witnesses to what happened and hopefully the FA will deal with it accordingly.
Yup. I happen to have seen the clip where they explain that in the World Cup, another player pushes a player onto the pitch during the celebration in order to prevent it. It’s such nonsense. Can you imagine a ref blowing for KO without any of the players on the pitch?
Is it my imagination or are more kids getting the laws of the game from TikTok etc…..
I hear it more and more “they aren’t on the pitch ref….i can KO right?”
I calmly reply “not without me blowing my whistle and stop getting stupid ideas off the internet.”
Anyone else get this?
This is unacceptable. It is happening far too often. How many posts about abuse just this weekend?
Then they wonder why we don’t have enough refs?
For me reffing is not about the money. It’s about helping youth football, keeping myself fit, and I enjoy it.
I won’t quit as I won’t let a few...
I am fine. At the time I was genuinely threatened. This guy looked like a thug too, but judging by how the manager behaved, it’s a problem with the club.
I am upset with myself for not showing him a red card. Thinking how u13 matches are usually done by young referees, and how this big man...
One thing I didn’t know until after the match is that said team and manager have a reputation for trouble. I’m glad I didn’t know that before the match as that can sometimes affect your decisions.
Still can’t believe how shaken I am by this. Wasn’t expecting that doing an u13 match. I usually...
We all have games we wish we could re ref or handle things differently.
Reading what you wrote, I think you did well and are being very hard on yourself.
I am always shocked at how adults in football thing they can speak to children like that. It’s disgusting and the AR needs to remember he...
What is wrong with managers and parents. U13 boys match.
Half time I pull the manager and ask him to calm down with his constant moaning about decisions. I ask him to step away from the players and speak to me. He proceeds to come right up close to my face like less than an inch away. Noses...
This will have the VAR debate cooking again.
I was watching the VAR replay and it clearly shows it hitting his elbow and going in. Apparently not clear enough.
