Seriously…..how can they justify DOGSO on that last red cards Does anyone think it was a red card offence? Surely it’s an error and VAR should overturn it?

I don’t disagree. Is that a benefit or a hindrance of VAR? I feel referees at that level don’t make the big calls anymore and rely on VAR to make the call. The result is only clear cut decisions being made. That maybe a good thing or it maybe a bad thing. Who knows? ;)

Had the ref called a penalty it wouldn’t have been overturned. Thats my opinion of it.

both penalty calls correct although had he given second one, I don’t feel var would have reversed it as an obvious error. However, my main question is who blows for half time before the corner is taken? If you give the corner, you let it play, otherwise blow before people setup for the corner.

So even though I’m desperate for city to drop points, as a referee, I was so pleased to see the Bournemouth player booked for sarcastically applauding the referee. Booked for dissent. Premier league players get away with far too much with “language” to referee.

I saw this video and I wonder if it’s correct in law. Ref calls a penalty, then speaks to his AR and they change the decision. Is this correct in law? Looking at video it’s difficult to tell, but I suspect the correct decision was made in not awarding the penalty...

Had a feisty match today. First goal the home coach storms onto the pitch to confront me about not calling a foul. He was shouting at me. I sent off the coach there and then. I believe I’m correct in law although he believes it’s only a yellow. I’m obviously filing the red card, but should...

I see this as almost 2 tackles. He makes the tackle and gets the ball. Sees that it didn’t do enough and raises his other leg to trip over the attacker.

On this once, for me the player put his foot in front of the ball and hence it’s not a clear and obvious error. It’s like a striker initiates contact with a player and then claimed a foul. Here the player didn’t get the ball, but put his foot to try and draw the foul.

Ball wasn’t in play so no penalty. I’m assuming you’re a city fan. ;) I also feel that the big man went down looking for it, but regardless….since the former hadn’t been taken yet, you can’t give a penalty.

Strange how the handball is more or less what people have focused on. For me the red card for violent conduct was more interesting.

Agree with first point, but not sure about handball. I think he is sliding and trying to stop his fall. I feel it would have been harsh.

What’s the view people? Martinez punch to back of head of Jesus? I was surprised VAR didn’t send to monitor. The handball before the goal I can see as not being conclusive so on field decision should stand. Thoughts?
