    Bournemouth v Newcastle

Why can't it? Curious to know.

    Bournemouth v Newcastle

Not something we should be taking into consideration though as referees. Get law right, first and foremost.

    Bournemouth v Newcastle

My opinion, handball offence. Hits below the armpit line, goes directly into the goal. There can be no question. Nice and easy. Sleeves has never been in law as mentioned above, how would it work with long and short sleeve tops? Red card - Uses excessive force or brutality when not...

    DOGSO or… advantage?

Easy to judge now, but there's no OGSO from the advantage imo, so if you think there's a foul then safe refereeing is to give the DOGSO.

MOAS Appointment but not on MOAS

I was appointed to a game at the end of last season, appointment at 11am, call at 1130 for that evening (rough timings). So they definitely can appoint before confirming.

    Mileage

You're supposed to charge for the shortest route, distance wise, even if you take a longer route (which may be more fuel efficient). So if maps gives me a couple of routes, I'll charge the shortest even if I take a longer one that's actually quicker. Just for info purposes.

    DOGSO from a free-kick

Just out of interest, did the player who shouted actually distract the opponent? One of the situations I hope I never find myself in, it's hard enough explaining relatively clear decisions to players who don't know the LOTG!

    Hinckley Vs Aylestone Park

Don't want to derail, but tail end of last season I had a Leicester Derby in the UCL. Ended with 10 cards (2 were double yellow-red and a straight red). UCL division 1 is all more north teams this season so hopefully little Leicester based shenanigans for me to get involved in!

    Hinckley Vs Aylestone Park

Anyone any thoughts on players surrounding the referee? We were told at development days that it should be an extraordinary report when there's a few players, and I think there's at least a couple of times there is. Granted not something you're always thinking about at the time, And...

    Hinckley Vs Aylestone Park

Third one, I think I can see a case for excessive force or brutality, but I can also see for USB. I'd like to see it at normal speed, ideally.

    Player removes shirt before scoring...

Did you see this on the same Tiktok I did recently? For me, I think you're really stuck between a rock and a hard place. And if it all kicks off on a Sunday morning, it's not a place I would want to be. I think I would allow the goal, provided the player doesn't do anything towards the...

    NED V ENG Euro SF

That's not how it works though. It's the way/manner that you make contact with a player. Not the fact that you just make contact. Plenty of contact is 'normal football contact'. But last night's foul wasn't.

    NED V ENG Euro SF

Having many a debate with fans + some refs who don't think it's a pen, including a couple of second season 4's. Pen for me, called it on first replay as Kane was getting treatment.

    Spain V Germany

I thought it would be given on review, arm away but moving towards the body rather than away so can see why it wasn't given. Did surprise me it wasn't given though.

    Debut Season Advice

Could you have been being too full on? Too much talking? It's about judging how much to say and when. If it's nice and free flowing and everyone is playing ball (pardon the pun), then I'll not be too involved. But if it's a period where I could lose match control because I've had the tackles...

    Debut Season Advice

I have to say, I agree with this. I talk to players in my games, proactively try and prevent offences ("steady steady, nothing silly lads, eyes on the ball (when it's dropping in the air etc)), and find this helps. I occasionally hear from teams as well that referees that don't communicate are...
