    1st observed match

I said to him I was expecting a match coach session but he was adamant it was an observation. Very experienced observer too (L3 ref) so will have to wait and see.

    1st observed match

That's what I thought but he said it's a full observation 🤔 We will find out!

    1st observed match

I had my 1st 7-6 observation yesterday, I thought it was a coaching visit but its a full observation. Didn't go too well as got shin splints half way through and was a bit off my normal standard, let an obvious yellow go and didn't deal with some persistent fouling. Let's see what the report...

Australia v Uzbekistan - 2023 AFC Asian Cup

That decision is a joke. No way a pen.

    Called a c*nt!

Last min of u15 game, yellows score from a corner, blues protest about pushing, no way a factor - goal 2.2 Coach proceeds to call me a c*nt -- red card. 1 min later, end of game, blue captain also calls me that - red card. So, I've done wgs with a playing and a non-playing red, do I need to add...

Club Assistant Referees - Expected and Offsides?

I always ask the CAR to flag for offside, I ask them to make sure player is active, not to change their mind and to not be offended if I overturn them (once had a CAR run on the pitch saying "you said flag for offside!!" when the ball had rolled out for a G/K and attacker never moved for it....)...

How to get match coach reports

I'm pleased to hear it does rollover, I thought it was all in 1 season. Thanks

    IPS v NOR

I was there, definitely offside. He's down on the ground in an offside position when cross comes in. Ref managed ok 1st half but did not give Barnes a YC for a clear foul on Ipswich goalie and in 2nd half was exactly the opposite of a "homer" ref!

No Corner Flags - What to do?

Reading that IFAB bit reminded me of the games I had on a local school pitch. Beautifully lined but one penalty area was 18 yds but the other only 15 yds.! Cue coach saying "it's same for both sides" Yeah right. Said game would not go ahead unless he lined it properly, which he did albeit in blue

    Ever sent your assistant off??

https://www.essexlive.news/news/essex-news/southend-youth-football-game-chaos-8938067 Essex FA ref gave yellow card, then red card to club assistant ref! Is that even permissible??

    PSG Vs Newcastle

Nor a penalty for me, players arm is where you'd expect it to be and ball is hit at short distance and bounces onto elbow.

    Drol the C-bomb I guess

    Dissent or Offinabus

"So - Yellow card and sin bin for 'dissent' for the blue player, or red card for 'Foul and abusive language'?" Interested to hear what the outcome was... Maybe my threshold is high (poss too high) but I'd be having words for the first comment, rather than a card as I did at a Ladies game on...
