It’s a mix of levels. I got promoted at the end of last season so I have been given some middles at county u23 level, and then I also do some grassroots stuff and childrens football.
I’ve been reflecting over the past season and it’s been picked up more than once that my tolerance level for dissent is high.
I am just wondering what your thoughts are.
Generally, for a ‘f*ck off’ in my direction, I give a sin bin (or yellow card if no sin bins apply).
‘What the f*ck are...
If a team have kicked the ball out and you haven’t blown the whistle then it should be a throw in. But the team who take the throw in usually throw it back to the opposition. (But that isn’t required, it’s just sportsmanship)
IFAB have just put out a tweet saying that they have a new website called ‘rules of the game’ and also called them rules multiple times in their tweet.
I have always avoided calling them rules as I thought it was strictly laws!
Looks like the EA sports logo is changing on the side of the referees’ shirts.
One of the EFL Referees has just posted on Instagram all the new shirts for this season in a box and all the EA sports logos look different.
Yes. The manager came in afterwards asking us not to put it through. He then went on to ‘remind’ the referee of the mistakes he made against this particular team last season!
Then said that not putting this card through would build rapport with the ref and the club!!
He’s a level 4 and was...
I hope he does get suspended! To be honest, I’ve never had a red card in a friendly before this (and I wasn’t even in the middle!)
Hopefully he gets suspended.
I had two games (both on the line).
The first game was a step 5 team Vs a step 6 team.
1 straight red card for violent conduct. Away team player punches a home team player twice!
Second game was a step 5 team Vs a team who I have no idea about but they weren’t used to NAR’s.
1 yellow for...
I presume that rule doesn’t count for friendlies and cup games?
A level 2B in my area uses comms in our local step 5 and 6 league friendlies
And I’m sure I’ve seen a 2B or 2A use them which involved a step 2 or 3 team during a cup game.
They don’t usually but we have (I think) 2 level 2B’s in my county and they both have comms kits. However, that is to do with their levels in the womens game. One of them is a 2W womens and the other is a FIFA Referee in the womens game.
But I didn’t think that 2B got comms kits normally.
The PGMOL have just put out a tweet saying that Jarred Gillet is leading a team of 6 PGMOL officials. Michael Salisbury is the 4th official?
I didn’t think he was FIFA Listed?
Or have I got this wrong?
I thought you had to be FIFA listed to do any international matches?
I got picked up on an observation last season as I used a Dolfin whistle and the observer said I wasn’t able to change the tone on it so I should consider a new whistle! I’ve just stuck with the fox 40 since then. I still sometimes get a ‘f*cking hell ref’
So it seems to be loud enough 😅
Write on cards are okay.
Producing a red card will be more ‘difficult’ than a yellow as you wouldn’t really use it the same was as a yellow card. It depends how reliable your team sheets are over here and level. You could get away with isolating the player and just telling them what they’ve...
