    El Clasico Referee Interview

I'm glad someone posted this. Real should have the book thrown at them, then the book should be picked back up and smashed over their head. But it won't happen, which is the fundamental problem the world over. If the Spanish refs walked out, they'd 100% have my support.

When does appealing become dissent / was I wrong to sin bin?

That's what I'd probably do too in the circumstances I described, but following the behaviour of that team in the first half, they were already on their last warning and no player had any doubt about that. Even with just 5 or 6 minutes left, it felt important to follow that final warning through.

When does appealing become dissent / was I wrong to sin bin?

Aye, I could have accepted the frustration point without the off.

    Adopting aggressive attitude

Had something similar earlier this year. Ball in far corner so I'm about 20 yards away near the corner of the penalty area. Hear shouting from behind that might have been "Ref! Ref" but one team had a player whose name when shouted from the bench sounded like 'ref' (honestly!) so didn't look...

    I got that, don't worry! 👍

When does appealing become dissent / was I wrong to sin bin?

Many thanks James. The sin-bin was easily sold and no one complained, but I think I'd have struggled to sell RC for OFFINABUS! If he was up in my face screaming it then it's different, but no way would I view what he said, how he said it, and where he said it, as OFFINABUS though some would...

When does appealing become dissent / was I wrong to sin bin?

Genuinely not looking for affirmation so please feel free to criticise, but looking for opinions/advice/comments on a game I refereed midweek. To set the scene, Local Sunday league game, Div 3 out of 3. Refereed home team four times already this season, first time refereeing away team. Home...

    Holding / Pulling An Opponent

That's a brain teaser! On the one hand, you've played advantage for the DOGSO so should still come back and caution for USB. However, the DOGSO never developed (as the advantage was there and not taken, as opposed to never developing, one has to assume the attacker either chose not to shoot or...

Chairman reffing in league decide fixture.

I don’t enjoy reffing them TBH - if anything I am almost certainly biased against them and we have a couple of players prone to YCs, which you never feel great about. Was happy to help this year as it was a new club and I’ve saved them about £1000 in fees, but it’s more aggro than it’s worth.

    ‘Boro - Plymouth

100% not a foul from that angle, but it looks a lot more like an airshot and fall, than dive. However, it just so happens to be on ITV right now and a different angle shows a push, and whilst it might be soft and the attacker might make a meal of it, it’s not the absolute shocker it looks from...

As someone who uses RefSix bit also needs reading glasses, a bigger font option would be very helpful!!!

Chairman reffing in league decide fixture.

My son (13yo) plays in a local league that doesn’t appoint referees. I referee the vast majority of their home games and always declare in advance to the oppo I’m a parent. Only ever been accused of being biased once, ironically by a team who should have had a player sent off and scored two deep...

    U15 Tier 1 Bad Match

First and foremost @Jayden - we all have games we wish we could have back and the fact you're already reflecting on that is a very good thing, but be in no doubt that the behaviour of the CAR (it reads like it's a parent, rather than an appointed AR?) was disgraceful so well done for reporting...

How long do we have to submit disciplinary reports via WGS / when do suspensions start?

I do understand that James, hence asking the question to make sure I didn’t let my sympathy for the player mean I did something I shouldn’t. WGS report has been submitted and given suspensions commence on the seventh day he’s clear to play in the final.

How long do we have to submit disciplinary reports via WGS / when do suspensions start?

I found the FA’s Grassroots Discipline Guide for 24/25 which confirms suspensions commenced on the 7th day after the RC regardless of when submitted, so WGS has been updated. FA GRASSROOTS DISCIPLINE GUIDE

How long do we have to submit disciplinary reports via WGS / when do suspensions start?

Thank you. I know it’s soft, but I don’t want rob him of a cup final experience (even in our local Dog & Duck league) if I can avoid doing so whilst staying within the rules.

How long do we have to submit disciplinary reports via WGS / when do suspensions start?

Some of you will hate me for asking this but I’m going to ask regardless. Game today, home team playing a final on Tuesday. 9 mins in, away team striker 1-on-1 with keeper, who’s out of his box, tries to knock it round keeper who instinctively puts out an arm and handles it. Blatant DOGSO and...

    Hearts v Dundee Utd

Based on the other angle, seems entirely justifiable to me especially given the ref's ideal view - there's speed, a lack of control and high contact point. Spotting SFP is one of my areas for development (having missed two this year that were subsequently clear cut when reviewing VEO) so I'd...
