    Game on?

Have to agree, no standing water that i can see. Nothing wrong with a bit of mud. If you saw some of the pitches i played on as a kid, not a blade of grass to be seen!!

    Double Booked

Brad, this would between you and the University. Its not something the FA would involve themselves in. I personally would email the University and explain the above. They may offer something, they may not and you may have to take it on the chin. Just remember that next time they call and ask you...

    Whole Game

Why not just keep a track on a spreadsheet or something? Saves having to log in etc. I use ref stat which is a really well written spreadsheet, i think its available on here in the resources. Edit - Just double checked, it is the very first post on the resources. Its very handy, ive used them...

    Persistent Infringement

Was chatting with a colleague on Sunday and he made a good point all be it a little tongue in cheek. If a player is constantly offside then what would stop you from cautioning him for persistent infringement? According to Law 12, under cautionable offences: A player is cautioned if guilty of...

    technique of 2 whistles

At what point has anyone said that? It was just an observation @GraemeS, really didn't expect that reaction. If it works for you then fab, you keep doing it. Its not for me (am i allowed to say that) but each to their own.

    technique of 2 whistles

Woah @GraemeS i am not belittling anyone, i was merely making a point. Chill out a bit! Very well put as always @JamesL

    technique of 2 whistles

Is it just me or do you not have more important things to concentrate on during those 90+ minutes than which whistle to blow for which incident? Just seems like a lot of hassle. I have one whistle and vary the tone when i need to, its not hard!

    Trousers..

I know we shouldnt compare ourselves to the guys at the top but in this instance i think its safe to do so. How many times have you seen Anthony Taylor in a hat and gloves wearing tracksuit bottoms, we all know the answer. Not for me either, i have on occasion worn runners gloves on the line...

    Pre match talk

Everybody's different, banter is not for everyone. It may not be for you or the manager, so i would steer clear of that for now. Do 5 minutes research on each team before the game and engage with the manager about his team, shows that you have interest. So hows your season going? I see you beat...

    Bookings

I put a piece of thick masking tape on each side of the card. Home on one side and away on the other. Plenty of room to write name, number offence and time.

This is what happens when you are not in line with 2nd last defender

I read some absolute gold/guff on here!! The AR is 3 inches out of position!! 3 inches!!! I sometimes cant work out if your being serious or not @Ciley Myrus

    Bloody Players

Am i reading this right, are you saying you would caution here????

    Bloody Players

I know of a cup semi final where a team scored a last minute winner, the bench jumped up and celebrated (as you would) and encroached about 5 yards onto the pitch. The referee marched over and cautioned all 5 substitutes for entering the field of play without permission.

Open Age The moment a player uses foul and abusive and you know you've got them

Until you get to level 3 here in England you will be working with assistants of all levels, i have had level 5's who have ran 200 lines and level 7's running their first. Sorry but i wouldn't dream of dispensing of his or her services, you adapt your game accordingly if need be.

Open Age The moment a player uses foul and abusive and you know you've got them

I cant disagree with anything @JamesL has written here. The decision is down to the referee on the advice of the assistant. I always say to my assistants, give me the facts and i will decide the sanction based on the facts you have given me. This cuts out the following scenario: AR what have...
