I've yet to see any yanking of the hair in the 20 times I've watched the replay. If this is VC then so is DCL's grab around the neck (not a RC either) and we'll have two red cards then. A 3 match ban. Same as a headbutt or punch in the face. Pretty hard to compare.

Sending the referee to the monitor for the 2nd one is astonishing. The ref seeing it and then reversing his CORRECT decision is double astonishing.

I think by "at the time" he means "not 2 months later". I've no doubt my county FA would take 9 months to complete on this case. A continental FA? Anything over 7 days is a joke.

I put it firmly under "ouch - but it happens". It doesn't have that stamping down look that would make me think it deliberate. I think he's legitametly gone for the ball and totally f***ed it up. I admit I can't find any pros defending Simons. Maybe I'm a few years behind on the the curve of...

No idea how anyone who has played the game can think Simons is a red but lets assume it is. I will see 30 similar tackles this season that won't be given a RC.

1. I'm very worried how much abuse the referee was willing to take before issueing a 2nd caution. 2. If I were a Hammer I'd be so mad at the THREE West Ham players who did absolutely FA to get their player (who had clearly lost his head) away from the referee.

I've never seen a more over the top response to a decision than this. The "VAR is ruining the game I love" nonsense on MoTD was nauseating.

You don't get to do a little spin with people in the vicinity and land on their foot and get away with it. It's the very definition of careless. Bloody hurts when you're on thr end of it too.
