    DOGSO? BCFC V SWFC

Thank you. My understanding was there. I am not in detention. At one point the defender is between the attacker and gk marginally but the big point was its not 1v1 and the keeper comes across the defender towards the attacker and his team mate adjusts position to cover the goal and they both...

    DOGSO? BCFC V SWFC

Dont thInk he is edge of six yard, and the gk comes across and the defender covers the space and shapes to help the gk force the attacker outside if the foul wasnt committed so both gk and defender are not dropping to the goaline regardless. Thats denying space not dropping.

    DOGSO? BCFC V SWFC

The attacker is going towards the defender because of his touch, a defender who will be between him and the keeper..

    Luton v Wolves

Thank you. I have commented on the use of balance, and natural in the thread. What IFAB appear to expect is unnatural, and physically illogical. Thanks. Its a tough gig. I use these threads to educate myself. I have learned something, but wont be inflicting it on the u12's, u13's .. etc I...

    Luton v Wolves

My view is not anecdotal. Its evidence based. We move our arms to balance rotational movements. Rapid limb movements (those leg extensions) require use of arms to control our centre of mass and dynamic movement. These movements will also not be exact individual to individual as we do not share...

    Luton v Wolves

If you reread the thread I posed a similar question. So, do not beg, I have performed that movement frequently over thirty years of playing, training and as a coach of ten plus years I can witness this natural movement. Raised arms. Reach for the ball with a leg and you will use...

    Luton v Wolves

So your natural position has no measurement. It is all about context. Here is context. A norm and a logical expectation is bipedal movement where the arms move in opposite direction to leg movement. This is normal physical movement. The player (Luton v Wolves) was displaying a natural (normal)...

    Luton v Wolves

The player did not run towards the opponent waving an arm in the air. His arm is in that position because of his own movement in attempting to block the football. Are you stating that an arm above a certain angle is unnatural? What is the exact angle the arm can be taking into consideration...

    Luton v Wolves

You were making a point about the players arm being in a expected position. I could have used hundreds of images from any era to demonstrate that physical mechanics have not changed. The player in the picture you have provided in 2023 is demonstrating those mechanics. The player was not merely...

    Luton v Wolves

When an individual reaches for a the ball in that manner their opposite arm to the leg that are challenging with will swing out to act as balance. From the greatest to parks football, the bio mechanics are the same.

    Luton v Wolves

The ball hit the forearm. The players arms are in expected position? As was the Wolves player. The Wolves player was was using his arms to balance, this is a normal and expected position.

    Luton v Wolves

Balance exactly. When you make that movement a player will use an arm as a counterbalance. Classic Bobby Moore to anybody. No penalty here.

    World Cup China vs England

I am agreeing with you. A question for more clarity, how is a defender clearing the ball with the head from a cross in control?

Refs what is the defender supposed to do there? Amputate a limb? Dive out of he way?
