Exactly my point. Why are refs having to decide who kicks off in each quarter of the game ? It should just be 2 halves. If they want an agreed break half way through the half, and to make some subs, then fair enough.
Ex-players naturally go towards the ball. It took me a while to get out of that habit. Head towards it, then back off once you feel your within 15 yards or so (as mentioned). You'll get used to doing this after a while
Was it a foul ? Possibly ! Was it a clear and Obvious error ? Def not ! Play on.
I'm not saying he dived, but It doesn't help that strikers dive for everything these days. Back in the day, when players were honest, he might have got a pen for that.
I did an U15's game and it was pretty frustrating for the players, but they got through the 80 mins without any safety issues. Both decent sets of lads and they adapted very well to the conditions (just kept the ball on the deck). I've heard of over games in the area that were called off. The...
I think CrossRef has given a good description of the challenge. I'd also like to know the answer as even on my referee course they didn't know how to answer it.
The only thing I would say is, just because someone he has a personal dislike for someone doesn't mean he's not going to do his job properly. I have customers in my day job that I don't particularly like (the way they treat me) but that doesn't stop me from being professional and doing my best...
Fair point ! just too many of these things cropping up. I'm not the accusing players (Premier League ones hardly need the £'s), it's more a case of them being got at.
I know the admins get touchy about this word (it can't be ignored, though) but I think the football authorities ought to look into possible corruption here. It's such a childish error, and has happened twice now. Any sport with that much money floating about and that amount of betting taking...
Should it matter who normally takes the kicks, though ? Who's to say, the coaches or the team didn't want someone different to take them at that stage ?? That's a point...Forgot he was already on a yellow 🤔
What's the commentator talking about "common sense". It's a pen. End of. And i'm a Villa fan
Why would defenders throw the ball back, anyway...when it's at their feet ? 🤔
Fair point. The ball would probably get stuck under them, and it could lead to attacking players trying to kick it through them. I still think it's a serious accident waiting to happen
I'm surprised attacking teams don't just drill the ball along the ground in the hope it hits the excluders arms. I mean, they'd clearly be in an unnatural position
