White Brits pay more for Ref course

You are making stuff up now. Where has anyone said they want 50/50? I wish we lived in a society where this wasn't even a conversation but that's just not the reality.

White Brits pay more for Ref course

This is wrong. "evidence of the disadvantage, particular need or disproportionately low levels of participation, as appropriate, and an analysis of the causes" There is clear evidence of the disproportionate levels of participation, so it meets the criteria to be considered as positive action...

However, positive action, which is what this is, is legal. We've drummed this one out so many times on here....

New Spintso Watch on the way

I loved the retro but that DST was a pain in the footballs.

How do I know if I’m good?

Agree. When sin bins first came along at one point I was personally accountable for a 3rd of all dissent sin bins on the league I reffed (6/18). I got promoted at the end of that season.

    Sunderland v Everton

Common misconception, and possibly semantics, but they are not looking for an unnatural position but making the body unnaturally bigger. Lost count of how many times I stress this point but there are plenty unnatural positions, such as running around with hands behind back that would not be...

    Junior/Youth Age group advice

Probably need some context offered around why you think you should reject it. You are now old enough to referee open age football, inc. vets, so it would be good to know what your reservations are? Do you have anyone, mentor, friend, that can come and watch and help?

Changed drop ball law … devil in the detail

It is more nuanced than you are making out. If a team has the ball unchallenged with no pressure then you should be looking to be where then next danger is. If the opposition are pressing then you should be closer thus not leaving yourself with a long way to catch up if the transition happens.

Changed drop ball law … devil in the detail

He is in front of you.. Defending players = the team not in possession as opposed to positional naming convention. That is an old school diagram. The expectation is to be in an advanced position ready for the next danger as opposed to chasing the play around and rigidly sticking to a patrol...

Changed drop ball law … devil in the detail

I recently got a very good tip about using defending players as a shield. Very very unlikely that the ball will be played to the defender and significantly reduces how often get hit with the ball.

    Ref equipments

Using Comms for football is not just stick headset on and go. Comms needs to be structured and add value to the overall game management. This creates an unfair playing field not only for referees but for clubs as well as identical incidents in a games with and without comms may result in a...

Changed drop ball law … devil in the detail

For clarity I mean that when a player is entering the penalty area from the right wing area of the field of play, then we are expected to be in a position to judge in/out of the PA if a foul is committed. This is also true on the left side of the FOP. Whereas in the past, and the snippet...

Changed drop ball law … devil in the detail

Its still in the back of the good book but the FA/PGMOL are adopting a less rigid approach. Still keeping play between ref and AR most of the time but there is less emphasis on just running diagonally and a greater expectation to be in position to judge key decisions e.g. penalty area entry on...

Changed drop ball law … devil in the detail

Diagonal is no more. It's now about advanced positioning, generally in between midfield and defensive line, and generally operating within the width of the penalty area. The aim is to be close to the next danger as opposed to just arriving when it happens.

    Forrest vs United

Where is that in law? And why are we looking for an excuse to give handball? FA are asking us to move focus away from solely on position of the hand/arm and more on the action of the player i.e. is it justifiable or consequence of movement

    Forrest vs United

Yes but if it's a natural position then it is justifiable or a consequence of the movement of the player in that specific situation ergo not a handball offence.

    Forrest vs United

In that situation, where do you expect his arm to be?

    Forrest vs United

Howson was actually to the left of the corner flag when he made the call and that is the reason I suspect he made the call. I would say it was between 0.5 to 1 yard out of line. MOTD showed this quite well and complements the AR masterclass recently put on by the FA for lev 3 and 4 official who...
