    Sheffield Utd vs Charlton

Interesting I was the other way round. 1st a YC (but player had to leave the field on a stretcher!) 2nd, I would like to see the temperature of the match, was offender seeing red mist, getting even? I am thinking RC. The Charlton player was keen to give the dropped red card back to the referee...

    Man Utd vs Man City

I’d expect this to be a red, IMO did endanger safety of an opponent. He did make contact with the ball, so in full speed AT can’t see the contact, but VAR https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxWcsOhK_LNFqOg85HYA_C8RlQw13VMGJH?si=25t63_q6xMDC6N1h

    Newcastle v Man City

I think the Wirtz goal is explained by the fact VAR & the broadcasters used two different frames for the point of contact. Which is always the crucial part, who decides the point of contact?

    Chelsea Vs Arsenal

In my view, the Chelsea 38 is not looking at the ball, so has no chance of clearing the ball. This is on Chelsea for the most bizarre/worst defending at a corner you could imagine.

    Luton v Swindon Sub error

Possibly makes it worse for the officials, is the three subs were made at half time, so had a bit more time & the board was irrelevant for players coming off as they were in the dressing room. Drinian is Swindon’s best player, top scorer with 13 goals this season. Luton thought it strange the...

    Newcastle v Man City

Lots of people are forgetting the offside line is goalkeeper Pope’s bottom, so even with the naked eye it is clearly offside. A good reminder the GK can be the second last defender. Saying the 5cm tolerance is a factor is wrong. I agree, I don’t see it’s subjective that Haaland is impacting...

    Luton v Swindon Sub error

The other way round Tafazolli 17 was on the team sheet, Drinian 23 comes on. It’s difficult to understand how the 4O messed up, if the above is true. Hopefully the club mixed up the names & numbers for the match officials sake. Very different to our level when team numbers are 1 to 17...

    Luton v Swindon Sub error

Your worst nightmare as an AR or 4th official. Player not on team sheet comes on as sub for Swindon in 46th minute, Luton notified referee of the error in 67th minute. Worse at professional level when players have their names on their shirts. Luton Town and Swindon Town's EFL Trophy clash on...

    VAR errors up 30%

Is it just me but if the KMI panel vote 2-3 on a decision then it not a clear & obvious error? By definition only 5-0 or 4-1 votes should be an error, not such a good headline though! On that basis four of the 13 ‘errors’ would not be counted. Ironically for me the two nailed on (0-5) errors...

    West Ham's Earring

Why are both the BBC & The Telegraph reporting the FA rule forbids jewellery being taped up? Its a universal law covered in IFAB Law 4 Safety! Doesn't help us at grass roots football. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c77k1z1017zo Cascarino was allowed to play without tape...

    Everton vs Wolves

A yellow card for unsporting behaviour for me, violent contact? There does need to be more force. Albeit ‘don’t pull hair!’ https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxh2tcS8Fz1VLaT-SalOPqkR9cE_ywVt1I?si=ue0c7R-0_kvyrwML

    West Ham v Nottingham Forest

Not offside for me, I see this as deliberate play, defenders intention is to tackle the striker, which he achieves sending the ball away from goal towards the touchline with a solid interception. Did the player obtain an advantage from the offside position, is this a consideration...

    Lazio v Napoli Red cards

Referee in no nonsense mood here! Second yellow, could you justify careless rather than reckless? https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxDeCk4JynKp1uMF7H1qeQyBhZ6We1uYGa?si=a2tTp3MtfC27SyPL Referee had the yellow card out, but swapped for violent conduct Red cards, could you justify AA, will an appeal...

    Fulham v Liverpool

I’d be miffed if I was AR & got marked down for an incorrect offside for Wirtz goal! 🙈 https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-fulham-var-offside-wirtz-36495775

    Newcastle v Chelsea

What actual good does the KMI panel achieve? Just headlines that in the opinion of five anonymous people, a subjective decision/error was made, why does their opinion have any more bearing than mine or the bloke down the pub? The specialist skills of the panel can be used to advise & assist...

    Newcastle v Chelsea

Just a thought, if the panel vote 3-2 that the VAR should have recommended a review then it isn’t a clear & obvious error. To be deemed a VAR non-intervention error should the bar be 5-0 or 4-1? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cz9vwvde2y0o BTW, thought the this one would be 5-0...

    Peterborough v Leyton Orient

Fair play to the AR here, brave call to step up when he is so far away, and credibility low, but stuck to his belief & really assisted the referee to award a defensive free kick for handball and change referee’s penalty decision. 👏👏👏...

    Newcastle v Chelsea

Odd, VAR didn’t recommend a review, almost identical to Konate’s challenge in Liverpool/Leeds match. Mike Dean’s view 100% a penalty!

    MUN vs BOU

Interesting in rugby union, is a red without any question. Two yellow cards, like way Simon Hooper dealt with it, took his time, defused situation.

Brighton v West Ham Handball or High Boot

Nuno not happy here. Interestingly, GKs might learn to let the ball in, if clearly has hit the striker’s arm (provided VAR in match)? West Ham’s Mavropanus (15) could have sold the kick to his head by rolling on the ground? Would have not been unexpected. Having said all that, I do support...
