    Carpi vs Livorno Red Card

Agree with Alex. Endangering the safety of an opponent. With a boot like that, IMO he is not in control, and could have caused serious injury, luckily he made connection with the ball. Red card. Move along. Player reactions here also suggests that a red card is the best course of action.

    Positioning-get wider...?

I often pick this up when assessing. In open play, your positioning should aim to be at 45% degrees to players running for the ball. You are not running alongside with them, so can keep a peripheral view, but you're not running behind them and not noticing any niggly trips / pulls. However...

    Pass Back?

I'm sorry Herts - but how can a shirt pull in which you're going to penalise be careless? By recognising it as a free kick, you must caution. There is a reason for a shirt pull, and it is often to stop players gaining an advantageous position. A shirt pull is never going to be by accident.

    Is this a red?

This is not a two footed challenge, but I still class it as endangering the safety of an opponent. The challenge is high and over the ball - you can say it has a downward trajectory - but still could have caused serious injury. I don't see how there wasn't even a freekick for it though. I...

    Pass Back?

How about this one. Goalkeeper has the ball and can't pick it up. Chips the ball to one of his defenders, who then heads it back to him. He catches it and attempts a fly kick.

Hello from Soccer Superstore USA (shipping Ref Gear internationally)

With regards to your RefsCall beeper flags - I'm not really a fan of the continental style. A few questions... 1) I see you have quartered - are they different colours - e.g. like this... http://www.referee-equipment.co.uk/Catalogue/Flags/Touchline-Flags/TLINE-Full-Set---Quartered-FSB-SQ 2) If...

Thanks @SM - a part of me actually feels disappointed he left. It was fun. Onwards and upwards though.

    Four Reds, 16 Yellow Cards

@MI posted this on the Mass Confrontation thread and I thought it deserved a thread of its own. Were all actions taken correct? Could it have been managed differently? Discuss

    County Fa

Keep yourself anonymous. Too late for that though! Mind you, I would never openly slate a referee on here (like some do). A referee may make a mistake, but then it is highlighted and discussed - so we can try and avoid making the same one! With your regards to you last post - county FAs hate...

    Mass Confrontation

I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disagree with respect to the assistant getting involved - differing opinions. By the way, there was no fourth official. As you put it, topic closed.

    Mass Confrontation

    1) Triangle formed - good. Should have stayed there though. 2) Firstly, the far side assistant is too far away, he should be closer. 3) The dugouts side assistant whilst originally good, should not be intervening in the manner in which he did. In fact, the manner in which he did get involved...

Bloody hell - decent debate. I think I'll just sit back and keep watching this one.
