    Blank Card Skins

Not quite the same as the card skins, but you can write on Scotch Magic tape with a pen and a pencil. This is the widest stuff they do and is the same width as a roll of masking tape. You could place a couple of strips from left to right and cover the back of the card as though it is a card...

    Was This Goalscoring Opportunity Obvious?

Don't quite understand this remark. You've asked for an opinion on a forum. When you received one you didn't like, you asked for another while degrading the first comment? As for the scenario you described, would the player have scored if the defender was taken out of the scene? If so, then it...

    Womens referee kit

I know of a couple of female officials who wear the Nike kit and get it tailored to fit them. Might be an idea to try with the Adidas kit?

    Adidas 14 kit

I've unfortunately had a bad experience with RefStore UK. I ordered 3 sets of B+D yellow and red cards on the 18th June and have not received any confirmation emails or the items. I have tried to contact them at least 4 times via their contact form on the website, their Facebook page and also...

Euro 2016 - Good news for England

With the news released by UEFA this morning, it'd be foolish of me to vote for Atkinson to do it! http://goo.gl/Q3Emwg

    Another New Person!

Paul, if you order it from A&H, they will embroider the county badge onto the kit. The RA shop will also embroider the county badge onto the kit - although I'm unsure who is the cheaper of the two! When you pass the course, generally you will receive a county badge which you could sew on...

    Promotion

Correct - it's the easiest promotion you'll get! Generally you have to complete at least 20 games (18+ and over age) before you can apply for promotion. As long as you do adult football for this coming season, you should be fine. Speak to your RDO in January of 2017 and register you interest to...

    Level 4 fitness test

The 2,600 metres is the minimum distance you must cover over the 12 minutes. However, you have to keep running for the entirety of the 12 minutes. Fortunately I passed mine today and finished at 3,000 metres, so couldn't have just stopped once crossing the line after 6.5 laps. There is no...

    2016-2017 Training Wear

I've emailed A&H regarding this, they confirmed they would be doing a discount again this year on kit and training wear. However they wouldn't say how much it would be. In recent years it has been a 30% discount, but there's no guarantee it'll be that high this year! Once the second fitness...

    Level 4 Candidates

Craig, nothing for this year yet. Although, I've got the one from last year, which I have attached. I doubt the venues will change too much.

    Unwanted advantage

This is where flagging on the move comes into play. If you flag for a foul whilst still crabbing along the line, you give the referee the option to play an advantage. If he chooses to go for the foul, you can simply stop and indicate the direction.

GPS Test (V800 vs Forerunner 220 vs Iphone 6)

I completed some running at a track yesterday - so know the exact distance I covered. Albeit, there weren't any sprints being recorded. However, I covered 2.6km in 12 minutes. The Polar V800 recorded that I had completed 2.64km in the 12 minutes. Here is a pretty in-depth investigation into...

    My match last Sunday

It's how the flag system is used throughout all of the professional games in the UK. All televised Premier League games use the different flags - one quartered and one plain.

    Almost there

I've heard from a reliable source that the promotion announcements will certainly be out within the next year. So, not too much longer to wait!

    Cup Final (small rant)

My guess would be he 'didn't hear it properly - or couldn't identify the player' shouting the verbals. As such, nothing would've been done and kick-off would've been taken as normal? EDIT: I meant that was the referee's excuse for not sanctioning it, not that he genuinely didn't hear it.

Neither have I mate, the talk of the town (well in this part anyway) is that they'll come out around 4 o'clock either today or tomorrow!

    Double Jump?

Some counties allow for referees to do the 'double jump' (London being one of them). Basically it means that in one marking season (March 1st - February 28th), referees have the ability to complete 2 (or 3) promotions in one go. To go from 7-5, a referee will have to complete 40 matches within...

    Staff V Students

Go for it, generally they're good fun! A good chance to give your teachers a dressing down after all the years they've done it to you! As an aside, referee the occasion. If the players are taking it seriously and tackles are flying in, treat it like a usual game, using cards as necessary. If...
