Thanks. Wasn’t trying to be too eager, just didn’t know if to highlight in a match report given the away assistant manager was going to report and it involved a U16. Based on the earlier advice I didn’t report.

I think there was some "come on then, if you want to have it out" sort of backwards and forwards.

Completely agreed. I wished I had added the coaching point to my response. :) I always award the other way, if they miss there chance to correct on the second throw.

We were taught that at the Minor League level (so U10) that it helps improve their game, by showing where they are going wrong, and to have a chance to correct.

I am still a newbie, but would agree with @OIREF! Know the local/age rules, as nothing worse than playing a too short/long half! Also get some agreement on how strict to be (for example throw ins correctly) from the managers. I always ask if their both happy to allow a retake on foul throw ins.

Hi, What's the view on getting an alternative referee shirt colour? I have the 'classic' black, but refereed a game last weekend with a team in dark blue (black is disallowed by the league) and it was very similar. Do most of you have a second colour, if so which? Cheers Chris
