    Any help if possible

Thought this would be the best place to put it...I'll shortly be doing two charity events, the first of which being a rather close haircut (to say the least) in support of Macmillan's Brave the Shave campaign. The second is the Swansea Bay 10k in September in which I'll be running for British...

Player removes shirt after scoring winning penalty in KFTPM

Of course there can still be cautions/dismissals, I just meant that would be another factor for me to be less likely to issue a caution myself so I guess I'm basically agreeing with CapnBloodbeard:cool:

Player removes shirt after scoring winning penalty in KFTPM

As KFTPM are not part of the match anyway according to LOTG and as it was the last penalty, I'd personally probably go for no caution. The player isn't delaying a restart or being particularly unsporting, rather showing their delight at the win

    Rest or Improve?

For me, I'm looking at plenty of sunbathing (if we get a summer), a decent strength program in the gym with some HIIT on the treadmill, hoping to get down the track a few times to run myself through the fitness test in time for it in August/September and also going to try and get through last...

    The FIFA corruption scandal.

Came across this last night http://referees.integrityinsport.info/LAUNCHER/ Nice Fifa-Interpol joint initiative to make sure corruption isn't widespread :hmmm: (At least they're trying to make sure we have our integrity even if the big bosses don't)

    Junior/Youth Final from hell

It was indeed a "proper" ground: permanent barriers around all sides, dugout/technical areas on one side, spectator's stand on the other and home, away and officials' changing rooms. There were league and county officials in attendance and they definitely did their part in keeping a lid on...

    Junior/Youth Final from hell

I would've said that both sets of staff were on thin ice by the end so thankfully it didn't come to that! Still managed to enjoy the day and I felt a lot more confident on the line than my first game (despite the higher stakes)

    Junior/Youth Final from hell

High praise indeed, thank you @Aled ! To be fair, club officials from both sides weren't setting a very good example (putting it mildly) so I can't have seen them being particularly helpful. I would have had a much harder game had we not had a fourth official but I still had one or two words...

    Referee Career

Is there any way you could make the schedule sync-able with iCal and the like?

    Polar V800

Funnily enough, I picked up an M400 out in NYC last week. Slightly less functionality than the V800 I believe but mainly wanted it for the Heart Rate Zones and HRmax measurements to train smarter. Haven't used it properly yet though!

Why do we check the keepers are ready before kick off?

I do it too and I have no idea why I do it.....assessor/mentor didn't have a problem with it though so :hmmm:

    Corners and Free Kicks

Yeah that's something the assessor said because starting off, for goal kicks, I was outside the centre circle in the opposition half and the ball was barely getting out of the penalty area! I'll bear your advice in mind when I next have a game
  15. BenH101

    Why do we do it?

Repeats much of what has already been said but interesting reading none the less http://www.iowra.co.uk/referee/template/?page=control

    Player body slams opposition player.

"Well, he's broken his back in three places but he's a tough cookie and I think he'll play on." "Cheers Geoff!"

    Corners and Free Kicks

Criticism can be quite helpful considering how little experience I have! I personally agree with you and not actually sure why my mentor/assessor gave me that advice. I think I need to sit down and get my head around it with diagrams or something:hmmm:

    Corners and Free Kicks

Well considering it was my very first game, I just did what I was told and he was happier in the second half but to be honest, your advice does make more sense to me

    Corners and Free Kicks

Had my first game on the weekend so only advice on positioning for CK's was the diagrams in LOTG. There was a mentor/assessor with me to give me advice and he said to me that when I don't have NARs, I should stand goal line far post and move out as the ball comes in. This seemed to work decently...
