    Assignment to a supply league

I am waiting on the decision too- Hellenic (where I have been lining for 4years), Western or Wessex. Would rather be appointed to Hellenic as I know the grounds, I understand the Western has just gone over to fixed fees so a trip to Barnstaple will see me broke!

    Promotion 17/18

I was under the impression the fa were trying to drive out these lazy style of reports. It should be more specific about times, actions and the why's. On corner kicks I vary my position each time. I have been known to go to the back post(not on it obviously) and arc movement during the corner...

    Promotion 17/18

I struggled getting middles on my local county league as there seems to be a reluctance/bad feeling for the transient 5-4 candidates. I was not alone. I should have done my perpetration much earlier than sending emails in August expecting games. I should have volunteered lines much earlier.

    Open Age Two footed tackle

Advantage, with a caution for dangerous play when the ball is next dead would be my discipline. If it was a long jump style challenge then the colour would change as would advantage- unless he is about to strike the ball into the back of the net.

Overruling a CAR on in/out of play

If he is attacking down the left wing, then did the assistant flag against his own player? Or did you have the assistants on the right backs? If he has gone against his own player you have a get out of jail free card

    Blank Card Skins

Refsworld should do something like that!

    Advantage

Those are the ones you want when observers are on the game!!

    Which pocket?

Book and cards in one short pocket, pen in top pocket. I use a BIC Used to desperate out yellow and reds into back pocket etc but find it easier to keep them all together Coin lives in chest pocket Whistle on lanyard

    Keeper control of the ball

Happens a fair bit, keeper dives onto the ball with one hand, striker belts ball into net to shouts of ' he only had one hand on it'! Confusion when you rule it out, something about rules is usually mentioned. Happy days

    Keeper control of the ball

Was still in the laws in 97. I was playing back then and never recall ever seeing a keeper charged , fairly or otherwise!

    Keeper control of the ball

It might well come from history, back in the 70's it was considered fair game to charge a goalkeeper fairly when he was holding the ball.

    Match Fees - All Levels

Largely depends where you live and referee. A local county line is 18 + travel, the next step up is 45 all in. For middles it's 25 and 55 resp.

    6-5 observation report

5-4 promotions don't use the same criteria. You will be marked out of 100 where 73 is seen as a decent score ( and the minimum average you will need to achieve to be considered.) Good luck

    6-5 observation report

The observer may have done the ref a dis service here. As padfoot has said, there are no objective points, nothing for a moderator to justify anything other than standard expected. At a recent observer seminar we were discouraged from using such a bland and subjective style.

    Coloured Kits

You can get addidas ref shirts for less than 10 on eBay. Badges are easy to get hold of. The one extra colour seems a sensible compromise.

How has your promotion season gone?

I have long proposed that all referees participate in a fitness test too. Healthy minds, healthy bodies etc. But for the same reasons GraemeS has pointed out it will never happen

Why can't you be more like..,

Not putting discipline through to the appropriate CFA leads to players not being sanctioned for their crimes and provides the potential for bigger problems down the road- players who should be serving bans playing in games where their actions cause bigger issues due to them believing their...

Yet another weekend down the drain... with the rain

Sat here waiting for the call. The pitch is known to be boggy at the best of times. The ref will hopefully get a call in the next hour, then I can be released to take in a local national league south game. See how the L2s strut their stuff.
