    Where is offside?

No for the record I think half way line, but looking forward to the definitive answer - WC AR must be true!

    Where is offside?

The player returning to his own half example is rare. More common is: Ball played over the top of a high defensive line that is on the half way line. Two attacking players, one just IOP, one not, chase the ball. AR (busting his guts down the line to keep up) waits to see, PIOP gets to the ball...

    Where is offside?

I always assumed it was per p109 as @one says. But as an AR I stop and raise my flag when the player becomes active. This is not where the player was when the ball was played, but generally it isn't where the player became active either. Mostly it's where the second last defender was when the...

    Offisde?

Offside or no, the LOTG wording for offside and being in your own half is not equivalent to in/out the FOP.

    Ignored as assistant

With some of the hills grounds we play on they clearly ran out of string and/or paint, and and at least with CARs there's a bit of a muddy track and someone standing there to mark the edge of the pitch. In my current role as taxi driver for my daughter out in the middle, I now pass time as a...

    Offisde?

Since the wording is "A player is not in an offside position if he is in his own half of the field of play" (as opposed to "...if he is not in the opposition's half of the field of play") I'd take the opposite view.

    Encroachment?

Offside?? Given that the encroaching defender in the first one wasn't involved in the miss, I might have let it go. But that's why players encroach I guess because they're not hauled up for it. Second one definitely yes.

    3 Incidents - Opinons

Interesting. The referee obv 'punishes the more serious offence when a player commits more than one offence at the same time'. While Law 12 appears to list them in descending order of seriousness, it doesn't say so. Games suspended is a matter for the authority rather than the LOTG, so are the...

    Hello from South Australia

Hi all. I'm an FFA Level 4 (FA Level 7 I guess) referee, who hasn't for a couple of years because I spent every weekend driving my son to games. CAR was the best I could do. However, my daughter is just starting her first season as a Level 4 so now I'm driving her to games. Vicariously living...

    2 yellows no red

My daughter did U12s on Saturday. Greens had three number 4s. Team sheet had different numbers for them and she didn't notice until after the game had started. No cards, but two of the 4s scored. Team manager said at half time, yeah shirts didn't fit at the start of the season, all we had etc.

    Caution before kick off

I would so love to see a ref getting a red card out in a KFC.

    A strange five minutes

Stop play, tell the captains that you will be reporting them, restart with a DB for the keeper, they've had their chance. Then you're not complicit.
