    Penalty thoughts?.......

Apparently proactive refereeing is frowned upon. If you leave the ball to enter the goal, one team will complain. If you catch it mid air no team will complain. Why go looking for trouble?? It'll find you anyway

    Penalty thoughts?.......

If This happens to me no way am I allowing the goal... Or the ball to cross the line for that matter. I'm getting my arse into gear and catching the ball as it falls. No point causing aggro for yourself when it's easily avoidable

    Caution before kick off

Showing a yellow card is irrelevant, it's used purely as a communication tool to tell everyone w caution has been given... I probs my wouldn't actually show the card, but a referee is entitled to

    Advantage Over ..?

First of all I'd be squeezing in and making sure everyone (especially the defender) knows I've seen it, and telling them to play on... If the second push is a little fanny pathetic thing then I'd be shouting at them both to 'leave it alone' or stopping play to award a defensive free kick if I...

    Ever been booed??

Was on a county cup final last month, and referee sent off one of the players (stonewall I might add)... Uproar from the crowd (right behind me, and the county officials). Loads of abuse for the last 10 minutes (young ref did really well to ignore the comments or he's hard of hearing), then as...

Open Age Offside goal in a final

Either go with the early flag, preventing the goal from ever occurring and acknowledge that the flag was possibly early (most players will respect this), or overrule the flag and allow the goal. Personally I'd be inclined to go with the early flag (don't shoot me)

    Referee County Development Program

I'm part of the academy up here in Westmorland (assume it's the same thing)... We sign up to attend all development meetings, and academy meetings unless we have good excuse... Requires more commitment but is well worth it!! Gets your name known more around the county and opens up opportunities...

    What would you do...........

Can we all agree that the correct thing to do is to bend the laws in order to suit the defending team here... Ie free kick is crap play one, free kick is good call it back and order a retake (possibly a YC too)??

    What would you do...........

Is the ball not in play when it is touched and moves?? Therefore it is in play when he touched it with his hand and it moves so handball is possible... I would be stopping the game however when he handles it and telling him to put it down... No need for a caution

    4th man cup final

Or you could do what a 4th man did up my end... Connect with the ball perfectly, only for it to skim the away managers head... He was not a happy bunny
