I will bring stats into the penalty VAR debate. In the 2 full seasons since VAR came in, 23.6% of penalties were awarded were not given by the ref originally but were deemed by VAR to be a clear and obvious error. An average of 82.5 penalties were awarded without VAR, and 25.5 penalties awarded...

They saw my stats about 1 in 2 not being given and decided they needed to up it 😉
