Is this is what junior football has become?

I definitely think you can justifying cautioning it - maybe USB other.

    Dissent, ball in play

Yeah a weird one but useful to remember thst if there’s some form of contact, you’re going for a DFK. We learn for future games!

    Dissent, ball in play

DFK. Take away the initial 50/50 for the moment and imagine all you see is a push somewhere on the field. Easy DFK. The fact there’s a challenge before is irrelevant as you adjudged it to be no foul

Weak, weak referees in my league

@IslandReferee what an odd comment, why does the number of games you do a year have anything to do with it? A plethora of reasons why one wouldn’t be able to do 120 a year (availability of games, your availability, work, family etc.). Strange

    Lino went for a p*ss

Can’t you just get on with the match for 2 minutes without a CAR?

    Italian Referee!

Ciao! Benvenuto Andrea! Which part of Italy are you from? I spent some time in Milan and loved refereeing there - welcome to the forum!

    England v Czeh

Try falling over without putting your arms out to cushion your fall. See how far you get. Sterling's arms are in the exact position you'd expect them to be from a non-simulated fall.

    England v Czeh

This is literally science 101 for what your body does if it's a natural fall...you're arguing against your own point now

    Radio advert

Ah you're right - got my terms muddled! Verbal distraction is a stretch really isn't it

    A-League Comms

Absolutely love this sort of stuff. Clearly a great ref and well-liked and respected by the players too - expecting big things from him when he moves!

    Radio advert

If keepers are allowed to move on their line and point, move around etc. then I don't see how this is any more unsporting. Could perhaps come under verbally deceiving if you really wanted to?

dogso - by not retreating 10 yards? red or yellow?

Even if it is supported in law, I am struggling to imagine how a player could be 1 on 1 but not offside when the ball is played? If he's just on, there's surely no OGSO?

    Offside Question

The answer can be found in Law 11: A player is in an offside position if: • any part of the head, body or feet is in the opponents’ half (excluding the halfway line) and • any part of the head, body or feet is nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent...

    Advice please - Racism accusation

It seems to me to be the opposite, no? Hard to tell without knowing what was said but the player hasn't been sent off because he's been discriminatory, it's because he's accused the ref of being discriminatory.

    VAR - audio footage

Perhaps just trying to rule out he wasn’t interfering with the opponent etc

    VAR - audio footage

I think they’re just checking that no one was offside from the first pass, as if they were, it wouldn’t have mattered had the defender played the ball deliberately

    VAR - audio footage

Here’s one you’ll enjoy - https://www.foxsports.com.au/video/football/a-league/refs-view-with-var!722281 Wish we saw more of this. Really helps the audience see how the referee has come to a particular decision. Find it fascinating how the ref insists at looking at it sell the decision

    Card skins

I used to think this, but I’ve found that the more experienced I’ve become, the more I find the procedure helps me with match control. Isolate the player, explain why he’s being cautioned/dismissed. If you manage to slow things down and explain it clearly but concisely, they know exactly why...

    Suarez vs Lyon

Suarez stands on Denayer then throws himself to the ground. The two-footed triple pike is ridiculous. Simulation all day.

    First Time Being Assistant Referee

Interestingly, I saw this last night at the City game - AR2 flagged for a sub, mirrored by AR1 to get the ref’s attention
