Everyone on the Leicester level 4 has passed. Including me 😁

    Player removes shirt before scoring...

Did you see this on the same Tiktok I did recently? For me, I think you're really stuck between a rock and a hard place. And if it all kicks off on a Sunday morning, it's not a place I would want to be. I think I would allow the goal, provided the player doesn't do anything towards the...

    4th official Sunday League? 😂😂

    NED V ENG Euro SF

That's not how it works though. It's the way/manner that you make contact with a player. Not the fact that you just make contact. Plenty of contact is 'normal football contact'. But last night's foul wasn't.

    NED V ENG Euro SF

Having many a debate with fans + some refs who don't think it's a pen, including a couple of second season 4's. Pen for me, called it on first replay as Kane was getting treatment.

Did you type some of this on your phone in the rain? 😂😂

    Spain V Germany

I thought it would be given on review, arm away but moving towards the body rather than away so can see why it wasn't given. Did surprise me it wasn't given though.

    Debut Season Advice

Could you have been being too full on? Too much talking? It's about judging how much to say and when. If it's nice and free flowing and everyone is playing ball (pardon the pun), then I'll not be too involved. But if it's a period where I could lose match control because I've had the tackles...

    Debut Season Advice

I have to say, I agree with this. I talk to players in my games, proactively try and prevent offences ("steady steady, nothing silly lads, eyes on the ball (when it's dropping in the air etc)), and find this helps. I occasionally hear from teams as well that referees that don't communicate are...

    Promotion

Could you do Central Midlands Regional Football Alliance by any chance? Or u18/u21 leagues, midweek? Anything like that? Edit - Also, Leicestershire Senior Football League, and if you do get on the UCL, I might see you next season 😀.

I've just put the game on and it's really annoying me now you've pointed it out!

    New 2026 Kit

If I go back down to 5, I'll be the same. Though I am mid 30s and don't have the pressure that the young uns tend to have.

    Tossing of the Coin

Yes, I was joking, as I remember it being in the news at the time.

    Tossing of the Coin

I don't have any of the issues above, I find rock paper scissors works for me, even at supply league level... 😁😁

    GER v SCO - Euro 24

I expected the female on the commentary with the 'rules' to have at least mentioned SFP, I don't recall hearing it from her. Maybe she's going off a different set to the usual 'laws'.

    Single game card record

Mine is 10 in a Leicester Derby last season at step 5/6. Was really annoyed I was missing the Rams on TV against Pompey for it, with my game in the rain, but turned into a decent test for me (where was my observer when I needed them...) Biggest issue was keeping track of who I'd already got in...

    Single game card record

I'm sure there were around that number in a Belper Town game around the end of last season. Fans stating worst refereeing performance they'd ever seen, etc etc. That referee then got a decent appointment in the play offs, iirc. So make of that what you will.

Goalkeeper handling offence in penalty area + DOGSO

Honestly, this is one set of scenarios that get me. Just trying to remember if it's handling in open play or from the restart that requires the sanction. I can never quite remember which way round when thinking about it without it written down.

    Fitness test

Last year (first year) did my test asap, this year I'm working Sunday and just got back from holiday so couldn't do yesterday. I usually try and get it out the way at the start. Looks like it's Doncaster or Leicester for me next month.

    Junior/Youth It's a friendly ref!

That's my go to. Edit - to add, I say this to the captains at the coin toss, and I also say that if your players start acting silly buggers and putting naughty tackles in then the cards will come out. Forewarned is forearmed.
