    Mark Sampson Sacked

It's good to see it's not only the SFA that's having a few 'issues'

    Junior/Youth What would you do.....

Red Card & DFK for Serious Foul Play imo.

Throw in played by teammate out of bounds

If the ball hasn't left the FOP, it's play on although if the ball has left FOP then it's a retake. It doesn't matter where the ball is projected to land, in my opinion of the ball left the FOP and the wind blew it out (however narrow it was), it's a throw to opposition.

    Newly Passed

First impressions count however it isn't worth the investment if you decide to stop refereeing after a couple of games (you'd be surprised how common this is). I'd suggest you do your first 5 in what you describe, keep the match fee's and if you're still interested in refereeing afterwards us...

    Junior/Youth First match of season

In regards to number 4, I'd have kept play stopped until the player was in a tactical position - the point of a substitution is to gain tactical advantage over the opposition, not the opposition to gain an advantage over you (assuming it did cause the goal).

    Casio W-756

Can anyone help me by telling me how you track the time? Do you use the stopwatch function or do you use the proper time and calculate it?

    Man City vs Liverpool

And that is why the players equipment inspection is so important, imagine the damage if he had incorrect studs on? As seen by others opinions there is absolutely no argument for this not being a red card and anyone that can think of one should probably re-evaluate their prospects as a referee

    Promotion

In Scotland its most common to go 7-5 unless you don't regularly attend your weekly and monthly association training/meeting although I'm not sure how different the structure is down south.

If you retrieve the ball for someone the last thing you can’t is a “you’re being biased to that team you got the ball for them” or “why were you slower getting it for us”

    I should know this but.....

You can’t send a physio away if the individual is the only medical person available this doesn’t include the opposition teams physio. Imagine the following scenario; Blue physio has been sent to the stand and you ask red physio to help blue out during injury. Best blue striker has a slight...

    I should know this but.....

I find it strange that this isn't explicitly mentioned in LOTG as player/manager situations are quite common in lower senior levels of the game although in my opinion of the player/manager is red carded either as a substitute, player or manager then (s)/he should be in the changing rooms or...

    Players in glasses?

As the player is 16/17 I'd be telling them no however in younger football, if the couch and parents sign the teamsheet I'd let it fly

    Weird technical one with equipment

Calling someone from Scotland a Jock is the equivalent to calling a German a Nazi, at least according to Ofcom. It pisses me off when people refer to me as a 'Jock' - you don't see me going around calling everyone Taffs or Limey. Why is that so difficult for people who aren't Scottish to...

    Player pole-axed - fairly?

Clearly gets the ball and doesn't handle the attacker, momentum is what brings the attacker down there was no way for either the defender or the attacker to move (see attached).

Any tips of getting to 2.6km in 12 minutes? Weights on the ankles or anything?

    Aspiring Referee (Hopefully)

So it's a few weeks now until I start and I can confirm I've improved my fitness a lot and I've been reading all of the posts on here and taking some notes and I'm feeling confident ahead of the course starting. I appreciate the advice everyone has given me.

    referee appointment officer (ref sec)

It might be worth investing in some workforce management software (WFM) and incorporating a hackyworkaround to get it working. Put all your referee's as employee's into the WFM software, inform them to put their closed dates in as TAFW requests and set up a schedule rotation(s) that'll...

    Distance Tracking

I apologize if I'm asking a stupid question but will either of these watches sync with my Endomondo and MyFitnessPal? Which one would be the best for the entire ecosystem of health applications rather than just 90 minute games?

Germany vs Cameroon - Another VAR goof up

100%. The fact the VAR was introduced to reduce the number of 'mistakes' a referee makes is embarrassing that even worse 'mistakes' are being made.
