    Lino Assault Result

I've no sympathy for the individual whatsoever, but I do have sympathy for a club getting absolutely shafted by one moron of a coach. That being said, there are a few clubs out there where the people running them are of a similar attitude to this lovely person; seeing clubs like that go to the...

    Everton v Liverpool

I've seen @RustyRef get angry with a lethal weapon in hand... £50 on @GraemeS to win please!

    Lino Assault Result

That's certainly the case in England, I can't say whether the club would be responsible for it in Wales though. In England the club would have to pay it, then go through the Football Debt Recovery process in order to get the individual suspended until the debt was repaid, but I'd have said that...

    Lino Assault Result

I'm curious as to the thought process behind fining him when they've banned him for life... where's the incentive to pay it?!

    Everton v Liverpool

"It only becomes a caution if the referee stops play and doesn't play advantage". This isn't quite true - it is a caution unless the referee plays advantage. Which shouldn't be done if it's a second caution.

    Misapplication of Law

League Management Committee doesn't have any authority over referees. Whether there's any sanction against the referee will depend whether it was reported to the CFA or not.

    Leeds vs Millwall

Endangering the opponent's safety IMO: - head-on collision, increasing the overall force in the challenge - force is perpendicular to the opponent's leg, increasing risk of injury (I think the Millwall player's lucky his studs didn't get caught in the ground) - significant contact with studs...

game off but another referee disagrees!

Yes. Appointed ref needs to inform the league that he postponed the fixture, and the other person (assuming you mean that they're a registered referee) needs reporting to the RDO.

    Man Utd v Leicester City

No, as there can quite easily be a defender in line with the attacker, therefore playing him onside. Point being how can an AR honestly say a player is offside when they can't see where the second last defender is?

    Man Utd v Leicester City

Issue is that Maguire's blocking the AR's view of where the offside line is. Not giving something because your view is obscured is understandable - giving it on a guess is less so.

    Liverpool-Spurs

The ball was played inside the penalty area, and I believe the whistle was blown before being played again, so assuming my memory is accurate, the referee was quite correct.

    Referee abuse

Couple of things: - I'm not quite sure how a suspension that's both match-based AND term-based works... - Three matches or one month for tapping a ref on the shoulder to get their attention seems very excessive, especially as they're equating it to prodding the ref in the chest - The second...

    Referee Injury

Get it looked at by a professional. A few years ago something in my calf went 10 minutes from the end of a game (I too limped through rather than coming off). Thought I'd just pulled it, couldn't run for nearly a week, was back reffing a week and a half after it happened, ended up having...

    Red card violent conduct

Don't forget the extraordinary report for the further violent conduct after the sending off offence has already been committed.

    Appeals

This certainly used to be the case several years ago when all suspensions for red cards at county level were decided by disciplinary commissions rather than being the automatic match-based suspensions we all know now. By appealing the sending off, players or managers could delay the start of any...

    Chelsea (W) vs Arsenal (W)

A good clean challenge?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂 you're either drunk, high, and/or an Arsenal fan. A miniscule touch of the ball here does not change the fact that it's a very obvious foul.

    Wolves vs Arsenal

Is there someone I can speak to about getting back the time I've just spent reading through the last couple of pages of this thread? As @RustyRef can attest to, I love a mention of The FA's disciplinary regulations as much as anyone, and yet even that has failed to change my flaccid state.

    Wolves vs Arsenal

MO has obviously correctly identified the first point of contact is studs first high on the shin, and whether that alone was enough for him, or whether he thought the player raked his studs down the opponent’s leg before the contact on the foot, I can't really blame him for going red on-field...

    Misapplication of Law

League rules can't trump the LotG. While you're not wrong that League Management Committees can be a law unto themselves, their decisions can be appealed to the competition's sanctioning authority (either a County FA or The FA).

    PSG v Man City

The first angle at 1:43 shows no contact with the attacker. Can't see any reason to not deem this a deliberate play by the defender, so goal is the correct decision. If it's just a factual decision of whether or not the ball touches the attacker then I don't see the need to bring the referee...
