Situations That Have Never Happened To You

Thank you @JamesL @one. I think that is also where I had got to, but it's one of those that just seems tough. I'd also be questioning why we were still playing if the wind is line that! 😂

Situations That Have Never Happened To You

In answer to the question about my question (as so far no on else has answered the question). The chin scratching part of this is advantage to who. I would normally consider the advantage to be for the team in possession, have control of the play. In this scenario that would be the goalkeeper...

Situations That Have Never Happened To You

If he'd known the laws he'd have known it was safer to just let it go in rather than attempt to save it. Question... if the keeper had got a touch and then it had gone in, would you have penalised the touch and gone IDFK or played advantage and allowed the goal?

    Bristol City v Sheff Utd

School Report: @Hilly1618 must try harder. 😉

    Bristol City v Sheff Utd

Or the lead presenters at least so they can correct/challenge. Won't happen though. People not generally interested in what the LotG actually say, just their personal opinion of what it should be.

    El Clasico Referee Interview

All of the claims are suuuuuch a stretch in credibility.

    BTN v NEW

Second one. I think he whistles before or at the same time as the header. For me he has already decided it's a penalty and it is merely a timing issue between the offence, the action of blowing the whistle and the header. Blue tinted glasses I think @OnlyUseMeWhistle 😉

    BTN v NEW

First one. Not a penalty for me. Tonali was absolutely focused on getting the ball. O'Riley was also trying to get the ball, but his intent was to get in the way of Tonali to block him as part of it. That is totally legitimate, but if 'normal contact' results then I'm happy no foul has been...

    Player blows the refs whistle

IDFK + Red Card + from where the player blew the whistle Beacuse that's what @JamesL said.

    Once again threatened with violence

In my county they have someone specific to support writing these. He's a former police officer so is experienced in making sure that statements have the best chance of being successful.

    Yellow, or red?

Likewise, but I reckon a yellow doesn't catch anyone out. Easy to explain.

    David Webb

It seems as though he leaned his head left to get a better view and caught the full brunt as Ayew went past. Good to see Ayew showing so much concern...

    Cas (Club Academy Scotland)

I don't know the Scottish set up, but in general I think 3 days or so is long enough to type in some bank details. Personally I'm expecting it that day or the next. They are getting a nudge after 3. Contacting the league after a week. Sometimes people genuinely forget, and are a bit...

    no card at all!

Agreed. That would be a card for RP or FT though, rather than SPA as advantage plays out. In the OP, if the player goes down you are probably giving the foul and whatever comes from that be it DOGSO, SPA, pen, cards etc. As they didn't go down and scored, I don't see a caution as necessary.

    Challenging in the air

This was what I was hoping to hear. I am looking to see if my current approach is in line. For me I want to see that the player is focusing on winning the ball as opposed to disrupting the opposition. Are they looking at the ball as they go in, or looking at the player and jumping into them...

    'In the back Ref!'

That was my view, but then a player said yesterday "but I didn't use my hands"! It didn't make a difference to my decision, but it did make me wonder if I did (or should) have a different tolerance level.

    Challenging in the air

Just after some tips from the assembled masses on what you look for in a legal (or illegal) challenge in the air. To set the scene, imagine a goal kick and the ball dropping from high onto the halfway line. The defender is well set and jumps to head. The ball is contested by the opposition as...

    'In the back Ref!'

Just picking this up again as I started to doubt myself yesterday. A pushing hand(s) is nice and easy. What are your views when a player is using their forearm? Any difference in your threshold?
