Oh god. I was going to give it up. I convinced my wife to give it a go and she's beaten me for the last 5 seasons. Frankly intolerable.
A friend of mine said it was like having an additional child to look after. Awful.
I'm in.
OK, I get that now. I think the issue I have is seeing it as a handling offence. It only becomes an offence as a result of it going into the goal.
At least I know what to do if it happens tomorrow afternoon. 👍🏻
No goal, because you cannot score if the last touch was with the arm/hand even if it was not deliberate.
Move the scenario up the pitch. Kicked by defender, brushes the strikers arm on the way into the goal. You would disallow the goal. Same with the keeper.
I would say that at U14 they are getting full application of LOTG, which in the example that you have given, means DOGSO is definitely happening.
Edit: Just to add in that the u12/13 is a bit more of a grey area, but by that age they are far more aware of what they are doing so it would depend...
I agree, but that's a problem with implementation rather than the intent. The data backs up that there are more 'correct' KMIs than there were previously. Its better, but not perfect.
Disagree. I think VAR was brought in to make it better, not perfect.
It has made it better, evidentially so. It can never be perfect because it involves humans and elements of subjectivity.
From my tournament last weekend...
"Pack it in. Either you are going to concede a foul, or you are going to concede a penalty. At the moment it looks like a penalty".
