I have found a setting I'm going to try this afternoon. Settings > Display > Show Last App > Within 1 hour I am hoping that if it goes to screen off, it will reopen on R6 and not return to the home screen.

Yes. I've got t that set up. That's the only way I can make it usable. I double press the home button and it opens R6. To be fair it is a really good function as it save faffing about, especially when you have a wet screen.

You don't need to blow the whistle for every restart. Goal kicks, corners etc don't need a whistle. Free kicks don't need a whistle unless you're trying to control the restart eg in an attacking part and the field of play where you might be setting a wall or you don't want a quick fk being...
