    Manager refuses to shake hand

So, here's a top tip on where to stand on half-time / final whistle. Always judge it by the temperature of the game and the feelings of the players. If you have the game in your pocket, and you know the players are generally in a good mood, then you want to be bang in the middle of the pitch...

The issue I have with the advice is that no reason is being given for it. There is no decision being listed as being wrong due to your positioning. E.g. "You missed a push on X due to your positioning on corner Y. This was because of Z, and you could have prevented this by...". You get the...

The positioning advice is poor and does not reflect current L3-4 guidelines.

Some useful words to calm down players/coaches

This is incredibly situational. It really is a combination of empathy but also not shirking. Empathy only goes so far - If someone oversteps the mark, you need to deal with that, regardless of having empathy for them feeling the way they do.

    Looking for suggestions/clarification

Got to admit, I've performed a dropped ball in the penalty area for the 'keeper many a time following an injury situation, and not once has an opposition player attempted to challenge for it. Only advice I would give is to ask the keeper to wait for you to get upfield before he/she punts it...

    Distance

I'm covering anything from 9.5k to 12km in my games, and that was about the same at supply league level. If anything, it is now on the lower side of that even though my fitness has improved due to the current positioning guidelines, and needing to leave escape routes open.

Feedback is a gift. I'd prefer to have Observers on _all_ of my games if it was possible. You should always be putting in your best possible performance, and not changing anything. You never know who is at the game, or who might watch highlights on YouTube at a later date! (This latter point...

    6-5 observation report

If you want to get an above standard mark on a dull 'nothing happening' game, that's where you need to make sure you shine in everything you do. Teamwork, positioning, fitness levels... put the polish on the performance. It is completely possible to get the higher marks by being professional...

    How is that not spotted!!!

I (successfully) argued my case with an Observer in a game earlier this season. A player was flagged offside, then a few seconds later, booted the ball at goal. It was the last 10 minutes of the game and he knew what he was doing. HOWEVER, as luck would have it, the ball bounced off the...

    How is that not spotted!!!

I haven't seen the kicking the ball away incident quoted here. One thing to be mindful of though, is that there is a difference between 'kicking the ball away' and 'delaying the restart'. Did this one delay the restart?
