    European Referees

I think because everyone expects the dives to just be given as a freekick due to the less heavy challenges going in. a bit like what oldnavy said. Probably why it has also started to creak into the english game as our Academy system doesn't produce half the talent other nations do at the top...

    European Referees

So this is really interesting with how the approach is. I was mainly exposed to Italians and other south Eastern European referees so this might have influenced the way I saw it. Biggest difference for me was applauding the crowd before the game when lining up that would never go down well...

    European Referees

Finally back from a great week refereeing at the Paris World Games, but something that myself and the other guys from England noticed was that the English teams struggled in the tournament for one reason or another. Speaking to them though and they would tell you it's the different style of...

    County Refereeing Development Groups

I got my nomination through county CORE last season and honestly it is best to get that before being a 4 now that they have changed it. Now you have to finish in the top 10-15% on the merit table just to receive a trial invitation. Getting on and staying on the program as early as possible is...

New Referee Kit in FC 25

I was always very sad and noticed this the other day alongside a very ugly white line down the side of the shorts regardless of the shirt colour. Little stuff like that really sets me off 😂

    County Refereeing Development Groups

Ok understand I will be the minority, but I did the CORE retrial which I think was the 2B test for level 4s? while injured and probably heavier than I’ve been in a long time. Any referee that takes it seriously should be able to pass any test they need to do.

    County Refereeing Development Groups

I think a good example of this would be if they got invited to a mid season assessment day, my understanding is that you do not get a whole lot of notice for this so would be a shame if anyone missed out because they couldn't be bothered to stay fit enough for the entire season

    Inductions

The problem with the numbers seems to be a lack of reclassifications, despite Suffolk only having 2 teams in the WNL, and the next closest clubs being an hour+, I think we have at least 6/7 referees at 3W. Nothing against these guys/girls but if that's the trend across the country then there is...

    Inductions

I've heard as a rumour that they will be giving priority to the officials on Women's CORE for middles on the WNL however that isn't many so should still be a good amount for everyone else. I think the biggest issue they have for 3W is that there are so many of you and there aren't anywhere near...

    Pre season

No idea if centre circle will be any help tbh, I think they've had a lot on their plate at the county with the end of the season so it's not been the quickest replies. My go to is usually email for the RDO. The best clubs to contact would be Copplestone or Kesgrave as they have a lot of youth teams.

Throw ins- how far can the player get?

I was arsey about it once, never again was more hastle than it was worth

    Pre season

Any spare games on centre circle you can pick up would be good, but I think you might have a pretty bare preseason as I know a lot of the 'bigger' youth clubs in Suffolk keep a record of referees that they always rely on for these friendlies. County will be useful for games though from my...

    Pre season

Those of us involved with non-league have already had some sent to us for July. For the local youth leagues I recommend going to as many tournaments as possible as I think youth teams will generally use their own network of referees before contacting Suffolk FA.

    Coloured Match Shirts

Do you know if the volt on there is the yellow colour we normally see as it looks very green on the website?

    Coloured Match Shirts

I'm off to Paris next month for the world games with referee abroad and have seen that on refstop the blue and orange tops are out of stock in Mediums. Any one who's been with away with them are there other colours you recommend taking? Also does anyone know where else I could get these from? I...

Base layer with buzzer flag pocket

Based off of what I've seen with the Macron one, they look similar pocket sizes. They should fit a touchline receiver quite nicely, not idea what it will be like with the larger brands.

    Penalty Kick 'Double-Touches' Clarification

Its accounting for that one random LOTG exam that will explicitly say a player is deliberately kicking with both. I just have visions of a player slide tackling the ball with both feet when reading that

Puma Match and training kit launched.

It will look an absolute mess at step 7 though where there are at least 3 options for them to wear now. It was already bad in my area with some referees wearing the old Nike kit, it will be even worse now.

Changes to be aware of for 2025/26 season

Without wanting to revive the thread or debate from when it was announced, will be interesting to see how it is applied preseason by the majority, let alone during the season

    How far could I go?

I was having pretty much the same conversation with a mate of mine who's also L4 very recently. Both set out with the idea that L3 would be the dream but to put it very simply (and I mean VERY simply) all we need is a couple seasons to go your way and you could realistically be in a position to...
