    Remembered eventually! Newcastle 1 - 1 Chelsea (3) Whyteleafe 2 - 2 Whitstable (1) Barcelona 3 - 2 Real Madrid (4) Aldershot 1 - 0 Spennymoor (2) Liverpool 2 - 1 Arsenal (5) Bonus: 14 Being quite ambitious here languishing at the bottom - mighty Wanderers (Wolves).

    Bristol City v Sheff Utd

It's funny actually because the Bristol City manager was saying something along the lines of how can you kick the ball if you haven't challenged for it? I don't think he was getting anywhere near that ball if he didn't literally pull his opponent to the ground with both arms. Clear red card.

    Bristol City v Sheff Utd

The last 2 seasons also followed this year's pattern iirc of SG2 on first legs, SG1 on second and final. So pretty standard appointments.

    PSG vs Arsenal

For the final prediction: Kovacs or Oliver the obvious choices following the patterns of appointments this season. Excellent semis for both refs

    Anthony Taylor on MNF

It may play a part, you never know. A significant number of the older referees on my local Step 7 league (West Mids Regional) all made it to the very top in either the men's or (more recently) the women's game. No coincidence that at the time the guy in charge of the FL refs was also on the...

Situations That Have Never Happened To You

Funnily enough, I saw something fairly similar in a school game of mine about 5 years ago. Helicopter landed on the field, so game was obviously halted (later abandoned as it was there pretty much all day). Just a bizarre thing to see at a football game!

    Player blows the refs whistle

    IDFK + red card.

    Abandoned game due to abuse.

I too notice that comparison a lot. I also umpire the odd cricket match for my brother here and there, and he also plays rugby. Never once have I seen even the slightest hint of disrespect in either of those sports. The reason? It is dealt with properly from the top down.

    Yellow, or red?

I think in this situation a yellow is best. Especially as you are the only one who heard it, making a red extremely difficult to sell. However, if you were offended by the comment, then you could justify OFFINABUS. It's all down to personal judgement with these sorts of offences.

    DOGSO + Offside

We do 😂 that post is over a year old and was due to a misinterpretation (forgetting about reckless vs DOGSO in the OP in a response). It is unfair to assume many referees think that.

    Abandoned game due to abuse.

I’ve already decided that if I do carry on it will be academies and OA only. Can’t be bothered with the faff of Sunday morning youth games with hungover parents. I’ll rest over the summer and see how I feel then.

    Abandoned game due to abuse.

This morning I abandoned a game for the first time. This was after sending someone for a double C2, also a first for me. I then took the players off the pitch to speak with the coaches (U14 game) as I had had enough of the constant dissent and abuse. What is the world coming to? Grown men...

    Cas (Club Academy Scotland)

Also not familiar with Scotland, but on the occasions I've been paid by BACS it has always been on the same day as I have been quite lucky with that. I would suggest waiting 3 days post game before reminding them, and then give them another 3 days or so after that before going to the people...

Situations That Have Never Happened To You

I'm only 2 years in but I have never had a DOGSO or SFP red. Or, come to think of it, a 2YC for the same player (had 2 where I "managed" instead - thankfully it went well then but I probably wouldn't use that option again). I've also never had a 0-0. A bizarre one that has happened though was...

    El Clasico Referee Interview

I can accept the reasons listed against strike action but alternatively the longer behaviour like this is leniently punished then the sooner it will be that a referee is killed on a football pitch! If this behaviour isn’t stamped on harshly at the top then it feeds down into grassroots. I think...

    El Clasico Referee Interview

Apparently Real provided video evidence that proved the referee’s report of the incident was factually inaccurate

Throw ins- how far can the player get?

If the ref has told them already to move back and they take the throw anyway, they probably will pull it back. However, most players tend to move back just about far enough when told to avoid conceding the foul throw.

    El Clasico Referee Interview

Absolutely pathetic and disgusting from Real at the end there.

    Wolves v Leicester

Having just seen it back, Vardy definitely initiated that imho. Incident from 1:40

    Wolves v Leicester

As a Wolves fan myself, I honestly thought it was a pen at the time. Not seen it back though so can’t be certain. Thought Sam Barrott had another great game tbh. Edit: it’s funny actually bc on another post someone advised ppl to watch his movement/fitness as it’s apparently second to none and...
