Registration 2026/27

The Ref Stop
Has anyone been able to register for 2026/27 season ?

Just try but was not able to register current L4.

Cheers
Overall, it only took me a moment nite or so to Re-register yesterday & I am aware that many from my location found the same, though some did forget to note down their registration number when it came up as a prompt.

Mine had L5 status on the registration (despite being a L4 for a year), you can add a note for it to be updated by County FA.

No issues with mine. I always use a note as it does not allow for being on both pathways. I always put a note to say I'm a 3W as well.. But speak to your county about the referee level if it does not show correctly. That said if you have just been promoted it won't show on the system just yet.

It's farcical that the registration number isn't stored on the system.
Used to be there on whole game.

Does seem strange/frustrating that the registration number isn’t held in a central place on the system (unless I just haven’t come across it). Perhaps on the plus side, I had to update my DBS (due to expire end of July) and the process was overall painless apart from the cost of just over £60. However, the proof in the pudding is how long it takes to process and if any issues identified. Last time around, I had to take my ID details to the CFA office which was not nearby - i am hoping the online process has been simplified to prevent this from occurring again.

I too had to renew my DBS and it was only £12

That’s a significant difference between the two. I was offered no different options, but I’m just wondering whether there is a difference in type of DBS we both have.

On Gov UK site:

Basic DBS: £21.50 (shows unspent convictions)

Standard DBS: £21.50 (shows spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and warnings)

Enhanced DBS: £49.50 (same as standard, plus local police intelligence)

Enhanced with Barred Lists: £49.50 (same as enhanced, plus a check against vulnerable adults/children barred lists)

So looks like yours has been subsidised but mine is full fat plus costs because of 3rd party provider.

Was told to say i was a referee volunteer or something along those lines, originally chose the wrong option, got my application reset as that tried to charge me 60 quid, once reset, chose the volunteer option IIRC and it was only 12 quid

Oh I see - I could have been the same - System said Observer paid or Observer unpaid. On one hand I am Observer paid because I do get paid by the FA - but are really only expenses (travelling mileage etc) or Observer - Unpaid, which I nearly ticked cos only paid a one off fee without mileage which really it only covers. I ticked - Observer paid.

Thats the one, i chose upon advice the unpaid option
I suspect this is going to be confusing for many - be it a Referee or Observer & some may not want to proceed if they tick Referee/Observer - paid & the impact that may have (give up their role).
