I can see why people would see the funny side but the optics would not look so good if there was a dubious decision for example.
I would also question the players intentions on whether it was deliberate to huddle around the ref, not one of them let the referee room for him to escape the huddle for example and they knew he was there.
Hearing also Rosenior is filing a complaint to PGMO because Tierney was in the way.
Tierney has tried to stop their centre circle huddle and its backfired on him sadly.
Rosenior very much following the Postecoglu route of seeming like a great guy who talks sense until under pressure and now talking absolute waffle.
Complained that an opposition player stepped in to his half for a warm up but thinks it’s ok that his team use the central space to ‘respect the ball’
Though I don't condone it, there was a logical 'consideration' to do it. This was a Newcastle kick of and with the ball in the centre there was a potential for a flash point, however unlikely. The presence went some way to neutralise/avoid it.
Having not been able to see much of the clip other than a shorter version online. Looks like he was talking to his assistants like we all do before being huddled. Also seen by him having to chuck the coin at one of the ARs
