Hi all

Had. A college game today.

1st half - Away team attacker into the box, 1 and 1 with keeper, gets his shot off and then the 2 of them come into contact and both end up in a heap on the floor. Shot goes wide, I give a goal kick explaining that he got his shot off and the momentum of the 2 took them into each other.

2nd half - home team attacker into box one and one with keeper, the attacker sort of does a chip/knick past the keeper as the keeper comes out and goes to ground, taken down the attacker, penalty kick given. As you can imagine, complaints from away team about consistency and same situation as 1st half. I explained it to them but they weren't buying it.

I guess you gotta see the incidents and I would like to myself.

The home coach was recording it, is it worth asking for a link to it and just forget it and move on?

Based on how you’ve described it, I 100% agree. Often players love consistency so much they want the same decision made across dissimilar situations. There is a meaningful difference between an attacker taking a shot and then colliding with the goalkeeper and an attacker trying to beat the goalkeeper and being tripped by the goalkeeper.
