Anyone watch this game.

I can only go on highlights of the main game and watching extra time but the referee seemed very anti Italian.
7 cautions for Italy players, and a supposed extra card each to two players giving a red (say supposed because on both replays there is zero evidence of a 2nd yellow being shown, especially the 2nd red).
Gnontos "2nd" yellow was harsh.

Germany went down at every opportunity for a penalty in extra time.
He stopped a throw in in stoppage time of the ET2H for some unknown reason but blew up seconds after the 3 added on with the ball still in Germanys defensive third. Italy stood no chance.
Felt referee potentially ruined the game with 2 needless reds, and a poor ET showing.

I’m unsure on the first Italian red - he gives a second yellow for it but the TV replays aren’t very conclusive so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on that as he gets one look in real time. First yellow was a fairly standard caution so no complaints there.
I was absolutely delighted to see him have the balls to give the second red though. Not sure if the first yellow was for simulation (as he did go down when there was very little in the challenge) or delaying the restart as he held on to the ball for too long. When he turned round and saw the referee giving him a yellow for this he then committed the most blatant dissent by smashing the ball into the ground in frustration, so the referee was absolutely spot on to send him off.
I’m pretty sure that other referees might have tried to manage that, especially as Italy were already a man down and a goal down at this point, but really the only correct option was the second yellow and the red.

I saw the 10 mins with 2 reds and 2 goals, great value for money.

1st red (2nd yellow) looked spot on, ref has the yellow in his hand whilst showing the red with the other so barring the world's worst caution technique it's deffo a 2nd yellow.

2nd looks like good reffing imo. Italian player playa for a foul, doesn't get it, holds onto the ball and gets booked then assume ofinabus for a straight red (didn't see the 2nd yellow this time) - either way deserved though

First red is on 9 mins

Think 2nd red was for a 2nd yellow. At least that's what stats say. But camera cuts away and you only see the red shown.

Both reds looked fine to me… or at least the second yellow on the first red was completely correct as a reckless challenge (I didn’t see the first yellow).

Second red I initially thought was double dissent which is rarely given at that level but personally I applaud from far below at grassroots. However yeah in hindsight it may have been C4 then C2. Either way fine by me. Bet the player felt dreadful when Italy equalised! Who knows, they may have made it to penalties with 10 on the field.
