The Ref Stop
STATISTICS!

Gone through absolutely everything and double-checked. No one's overall total was different, just things I was keeping a track on to mention in the weekly reviews. The two double-weeks (11 and 19) both included 1-10 wagers so for a "Maximum" (aka a +15) I was counting +30 instead. Week 11's bonus game was a pick-your-own bonus tenth match so I included that in the predictions and gave everyone a 0 for the bonus round instead to keep it consistent across the 25 weeks.

I removed SalfordRef and Ross' records so it's a 1-11 league table since the start (es1 joined a week late). Obviously people who are on less than 135 'Played' have missed weeks. The EoW is a mean average of what position someone has finished each week in over the 25 weeks, was interesting to see whose in/out of form.

Doing-A-Spurs™ is when you get your 5-wager (or 10 in the double weeks) absolutely the wrong way round.

Things that stuck out to me:

• Only four players have finished the week top of the pile
• League leader Wizzy leads the way for trebles, but hasn't scored a +15
• He sits top on not just scoring the most from matches, but also losing the least
• Gabz is equal with Wizzy on the least number of incorrect predictions
• One has Done-A-Spurs™ as often as the bottom two, but bonuses see him challenge
• Only been eight times when someone scored in all five matches
• ES in Week 9's 31-points scored from the 5 matches (max 45) is the best so far
• Gabz and Ste (Wk 4), and Josh (Wk 10) are the three times someone's gone 1-2-3-4-5
• Biggest total weekly score is 51, Ste (Wk 16) with a frankly bonkers 43 bonus points
• Biggest loss in one game week is also Ste -11 (+4 -15) in the bonus-stealing week
• I've had some right old stinkers. Peaked too early (week one) :D

Feel free to ask for anything you're interested in finding out.

Fascinating stuff!!

Found another stat, the only 0-0-0-0-0-0B so far (for an entered week): is @RefereeX in Week 9.

(@JamesL also went 0-0-0-0-0 but picked up +1 bonus point).

Was the week when they (for some reason) went 2-2s across the board and nothing was a draw.

In honour of Desmond.

(And because the fixtures selected were.....

Uninspiring!!)

Love the states. Have done similar in the past.

Some creative naming there with the Spurs. Be interesting to see some team stats. All on company time of course 😆

- Team with most appeance (your favourates to incude 🤣)
- Team giving us the most points per appearance (most predictable) - my guess Liverpool.
- Team giving us the least points per appearance, or most -ve points (least predictable) - Spurs?

Also, is EoW mean position for rank of the score for individual weeks, or mean for cumalitive position? For example if a person had the second highest score every week, would their EoW mean be 2 or likely very close to 1. I am thinking consistency vs flair.

Additional Stats

By some coincidence (135 fixtures played) 135 teams* have been used in the game Week 1-26, and the final PL team to get a mention were Everton (Week 19 - The full PL double Xmas Week). We've used 14 Women's teams, and 11 international teams.

PL by Popularity:

15 - Tottenham
11 - Chelsea / Man United
10 - Liverpool
9 - Man City
8 - Arsenal
7 - Ipswich
6 - Aston Villa / Brentford / Brighton / Crystal Palace / Wolves
5 - Fulham / Newcastle / Southampton
4 - Leicester / Nott'm Forest / West Ham
3 - Bournemouth
2 - Everton
In the Championship, Swansea (5), plus Leeds, Sheffield Wed and Sunderland (3 each) are the popular picks. While overseas popularity goes the way of Inter who have been included 5 times, with no one else yet to be featured a third time.

Man City (3), Liverpool (2) and Man United (2) are the Women's teams who've appeared more than once. France, England and Ireland are the three nations (twice each) who've been used more than once - back in last autumn's Nations League Thingy. As far as I can tell, we've headed to 18 overseas leagues. No League of Ireland yet which surprises me (sure I've included them, or maybe they were a bonus game), and no A-League but I think that's cos of the time differences and not wanting to have a mad deadline of 8 am on a Sunday or whatever.

EDIT: Ah balls. It's actually 134 teams, accidentally counted Real Madrid twice.

Have added an additional stat on the master spreadsheet now, calculating individual weekly ranking as well as tracking overall position at end of each game week. From the 25 weeks: @Pwizardo @FirsFox40 and @stedaley all have 4 weekly wins each. @es1 has 3. @JamesL @Gabriel @RefereeX and @OldNavyRef 2 each. @one (last week) and @holbeach ref have 1 win each. Josh yet to bag one (best was 2nd on Week 20, three points behind James).

Wizzy's average weekly ranking is 4th (4.08) ahead of One (4.52), James (5.56) and Gabriel (5.80).

I’ll go through the EPL teams and have a look. Think your hunches may be right, maybe Man City for the latter.
