WEEK 24 REVIEW
If it were possible for us to nominate a week that didn't happen, then this may poll the most votes. Brentford won at Palace, but a draw was the most popular result however Wizzy reminded us how it's all done by getting a 12 at the first opportunity. Then Spurs went and Did-A-Spurs™ and wiped-out 4s and 5s all over the shop. West Ham holding Villa to a draw (and afaik almost winning it at the death) ruined everyone's day apart from Navy who was the only person who had the draw and he bagged 9. He added 6 more to that with Το Κλασικό also ending 1-1 (Wizzy got 6 here as well)... and he so very nearly bagged a hat-trick of trebles with United's win at Fulham staying 1-0 and not the VAR'd off last-minute 2-0 he predicted. Unsurprisingly, everyone else but James (draw) went for a home win and tossed away even more points.

Absolute shambles, and Exxy wears the special hat for the week with a record -10 though there were -9s and -8s sloshing about. In the bonus game there were FOURTEEN goals in Sunday's five WSL fixtures and the bonus points have been added accordingly. Wizzy opens the lead up just as One was starting to chip away at it, and James punches his way into the top three. Navy's shipshape week lifts him out of the bottom two.

WEEK 25 FIXTURES
• Ajax - Feyenoord
• Brentford - Tottenham
• Arsenal - Manchester City
• Milan - Inter
• Botofogo - Flamengo

BONUS
There are 20 games scheduled across Eredivisie, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga on Sunday 2nd February.
You may name as many of the teams as you like, and if they win you score 2 bonus points each.
HOWEVER if any of your list fail to win, you will score ZERO bonus points in total.

🇳🇱 Almere v Waalwijk
Ajax v Feyenoord
Go Ahead Eagles v Twente
Sparta Rotterdam v Groningen
Willem II v Alkmaar

🇪🇸 Barcelona v Deportivo Alaves
Valencia v Celta Vigo
Osasuna v Sociedad
Betis v Athletic

🇮🇹 Juventus v Empoli
Fiorentina v Genoa
Milan v Inter
Roma v Napoli

🇫🇷 Toulouse v Nice
Angers v Le Harve
Reims v Nantes
Rennes v Strasbourg
Marseille v Lyon

🇩🇪 Frankfurst v Wolfsburg
Leverkusen v Hoffenheim

NOTES
In the bonus game, if anything gets postponed or abandoned or whatever then I'll obviously just take any affected teams out your list of picks with no penalty. I very nearly made this a ramping accumulator-style points (one right = 1 point each, two right = 2 points each etc) but the push-your-luck vibe can get totally screwed over if something gets moved for TV or rained-off. Might save that for later in the season.

Almost threw in MUFC v Palace but I'm so bored of United popping up in the Sunday fixtures, and those two Euro games looked tasty. The fifth match is the Brazilian Super Cup, so whatever the score is before penalties if it goes that far (dunno if they play ET, probably not).

I said after three weeks (23-25), the top 8 scoring players (excluding myself - though I'm doing a pretty good job of excluding myself on ability lol) will progress to a knockout head-to-head cup competition based on your predictions only (no bonuses). This will be the third and final week to qualify.

Standings are as follows:
Wizzy 21, James 20, Navy 15, Exxy 8, Gabz 5
Essers 2, Firs 0, Josh / Holby / One -1, Ste -2

Very hard to get the bonus games right for more than a couple of games. The way I saw it, it kind of works like trifecta in horse racing. Every added team reduces the chances significantly.

Also just noted the promotion relegation lines in the table 😄. Is that a plan for next season? Wizzy heading for champions league 🤣😂

Ha yeah big time, I’ll do another version of it later this season where the points ramp up. Haven’t gone through them all yet, keen to see how it all plays out.

Unfortunately lines just for flavour unless I sign that big oilmoney deal with the Dubai Golf forum 😂
