Junior/Youth U6 Youth Rec Game Fighting Incident

I was watching a game of my little brother's. Reds vs Greens. Red player kicked ball out, grabs ball and a green fights him for the ball. They both fall down and other teamates try to take the ball. The referee tries to seperate the players and give the ball to the greens who were supposed to take the goal kick. The kids don't listen and the coaches intervene to make peace out of all the chaos. About 4 minutes have passed and the players calm their minds and play the game. I soon will take that position soon as a referee for one of those games once I earn my certification. If that sort of offense occurs how can I resolve the conflict in a better way?

The advice is to stand back and observe, take note of what happened and the action you’ll be taking. You’re not a bodyguard/police officer, so you’re not expected to be splitting up players. Was this definitely an u6 match ?

This definatly was a U6 match. They weren't throwing punches or anything, but they were pulling on the ball and scufling for it. Should I request help from the coaches from the teams if a situation occurs like this?

For children's football, up until about U10, they don't understand the rules. All I do if any incident occurs like you witnessed is to simply blow my whistle then go over to the players having the tussle, kneel down to them and calmly just state who's ball it is and why.
You'll normally get a nod or thumbs up from both coaches.
