The Ref Stop

Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa

Whoever is responsible for us not having semi automated offsides need to resign. Pathetic that's has to take so long
So you would rather they implement something that isn't ready, hasn't been fully tested, and doesn't work properly? The current VAR process does work, it is just very slow.

We've had years to figure it out. What uefa and fifa use works just fine, but we don't use it because of money. Embarrassing

The Premier League can't use the system that relies on the chip in the ball, which means a new system has had to be developed. Nothing to do with money as far as I am aware.

It all squares back to money, though. Adidas have patent to the chip. PL have a deal with Nike to supply the balls.

You could argue they were both guilty of pulling & shirt holding, I suspect both referee & VAR deemed it was 50/50 on holding & pulling?

Had the Villa player not then threw himself to the ground in a theatrical manner, then he may have been awarded a penalty following sustained holding.

Not a chance because the VAR thought the holding was fleeting and had no impact on play and the referee didn't thought anything of it either.

I'm not sure how it's not a penalty, it's clear hes dragging his arm with force and it's slowing the attackers momentum, the attacker going to ground should be irrelevant, it's a clear foul which the referee would give right away elsewhere on the pitch but as we all know, the rules are different when it happens in the 18 yard box.

Every chance & just because VAR say that the holding was fleeting etc doesn’t mean to say that they didn’t take the fall into account - VAR is not going to say he dived etc, because that would have led to a yellow card for simulation - so the diplomatic information was provided. Of course, I don’t know this for sure, but is more rationale of the events.

People are mad. You're one of them. The ball was behind him, he can't even see it, but somehow manages to claw it back.
I'm not Martinez's biggest fan and I think he's overrated, but that was an insanely good save.
And Gary L said it’s one of the best saves he has ever seen and he has seen and played with and against many of the greats. People have to see it a full speed to see how good it was. It’s not just his reaction but his technique including after he has saved it so that the ball doesn’t cannon off him back towards the goal.

Well if he can't see this ball that he is looking straight at then it's the best save I've ever seen a blind man make.
