Celtic v Rangers rejected VAR review

A&H International
Looks from some angles as a clear trip, not convinced by the angles shown to the ref.

Not sure though, gotta have really good reactions to make that a convincing dive if it is one

Can understand how that can be given in real time.

Granted, I'm watching this with the sound off, but... to me, if a player is planting their foot down and then going down, well.... that's clear evidence of a dive/no penalty to me.

I'm not certain on the penalty (need a better angle) but this is so much better than the current EPL practice where premeditated murder has to take place for a ref to be sent to the monitor.

On the contrary, VAR had always been designed to have a "clear and obvious error" as a prerequisite for a review. And the OP is nothing like a clear and obvious error.

If we were to do a review everytime there is doubt about a key decision, football will no longer be football. As it is now for EPL, Wolves are asking for VAR to be canned mostly due to disruptions

Would still be preferable to each individual VAR putting his own personal interpretation on what C&O is.
You're also overstating how disruptive getting, say 3, big decisions in a game is.
Either have VAR simply "Get the right decision" or scrap it and go back to how it was.
The Frankenstein monster we currently have is obscene and fans hate it.
